I don't get this conversation and, Leslie, there was no reason
at all to be so rude to Bev. She was trying to engage in
discussion with you. As for the British monarchy, they are not
gods and don't pretend to be which is why there have been good
and bad kings and queens, some a mixture of both.
Why do your posts invariably centre around abortion and
homosexuality, there are other issues worthy of discussion. I
wonder if you talk like this with your friends and family.

Bev, rudeness is a separate issue.
Kings and Queens of England I have not spoken about.
The topic was drag queens in a Calgary public library. That was
the news that started this discussion on homosexuality. That
should answer your questions Lyn.
No one is answering my questions and those who wrote here are
all of the same mind.

Strange you have not mentioned Queen Elizabeth 1,as the
acknowledged expert in controlling her unwilling subjects.

My impression is that no one is using England's monarchy as the
only true model or standard to live by. I've also never heard
anyone justify colonizing other nations, especially with regard
to their treatment of the lower classes.
Your defense of the Catholic Church is different though and all
criticisms posted here are, imho, honestly and rightly exposing
some horrible behavior by the Church as an institution (I refer
to the covering up of the sexual abuse of children.)
Speaking of, I'm reminded you posted somewhere a criticism of
Pope Francis for not condemning priests having sex with other
priests, or something along that line (sorry, can't remember
where you posted this.) But, you didn't give him credit for all
he's said and done to address the sexual abuse of children and
the efforts to cover it up--which has included changing one
Canon law.)

You did mention Queen Elizabeth 1, Leslie, and Bev responded to
that and other things.

Well, Queen Elizabeth 1, did authorize execution of many of her
subjects for religious reasons under the name of treason.
It is a strain to keep this thing going when, after trying to
define our terms on what causes homosexuality, I got no answers
and was called a bigot for even mentioning it, when the topic is
really the drag queens of Calgary .

No. You were the one that said homosexuality was "intrinsically
disordered". You bang on all the time about it.
You are old enough to just live and let live by now.
Drag queens I can take or leave, but I doubt they are doing any
more harm than other men that wear long dresses.
As to the man being dragged out for disrupting the reading.
Good.
I'm sure you would approve if I was dragged out for protesting
one of your church gatherings.

That was very rude, Leslie, what Andrew said made sense and he
is entitled to his opinion as are you.
I doubt very much that Andrew speaks often to his friends and
family about homosexuality (or abortion), as often as you.
When you are a reasonably mature adult, there are plenty of
other issues far more interesting than the sexual preferences of
our fellow humans.

Andrew posted this quote on the 2nd February and I think you
should read this again Leslie
"We can disagree and still love each other unless your
disagreement is rooted in my oppression and denial of my
humanity and right to exist.
James Baldwin"

I know one thing Val, and I have complained it before, that I
should not have to put up with personal insults from Lyn, about
my 'alleged defects' of character. That is not the subject of
debate. We are here to debate a subject not the 'messenger' who
is not the subject.
And so complaints about rudeness are out of order. First of all
it is none of her business to interfere. Nor, is it any of her
business to criticize me for debating homosexuality just because
it is not high on the agenda in England. America and Canada are
different societies who take 'grooming' of children through drag
queen shows in public libraries seriously. They don't want their
children to be exposed to simulated acts and dildoes and other
gadgets used by them. That is happening here over the Atlantic.
That is why we discuss these things a lot on Christian websites
to counteract the influence of secular humanism, and atheism.

Leslie, many of your posts do you no favours at all!
It is important that children have discussions about all aspects
of sexual activity from an early age, which we did with our
children. We told them that gay or straight it was not a
problem. We also discussed the importance of using
contraceptives when they were in a relationship.
