Plenty of charities would be glad of old books of any type, it
seems a shame to throw them away unless they are severely
damaged. Please do ask your daughter before you dispose of any
       more.

I changed my mind and kept my daughter's books, Lyn, I don't
recall at present throwing them out. There weren't that many of
hers, most books on my bookshelves are mine.
Glad to see you are writing again Lyn.

I tried to have a conversation yesterday with Anne C, my
daughter, and found it impossible to discuss religious matters
intelligently with her. In the end I just gave up. In fact while
visiting her mother, my wife at Sunnybrook, I left for the
coffee shop. They followed me down. (How much longer is she going
to be undergoing tests, I don't know). Nothing was said, and
eventually they went to the private park for fresh air and
       sunshine.
On the way back, Anne drove , and nothing was said, just
       silence, after some initial comments.
Area of disagreement was on genderless people -and does a child
under 10 know enough to make a determination, and have the power
to try to change sex by drugs and surgery.
That was what did it for me. My daughter was educated in the
Catholic school system of Ontario, and is the product thereof.
She is very modern in her beliefs, and so wrong. She knows no
other Church than the 'novus ordo' one we have today collapsing
all around us. 80% of American Catholics do not go to Mass on
Sunday. Not to mention that I was six when World War 2 broke out
and have seen society change tremendously since then.
She is not impressed and doesn't want to discuss the Catholic
Church at all, so we didn't.

Morning leslie, I hope your wife is on the mend and will be home
       with you very soon.
Now on Catholicism, I can understand why people have issues with
its doctrine or with many of its die hard adherents who look for
wrongdoing in everyone else but fail to see that big plank
blinding their world view, Catholicism is a dying religion, I
read this somewhere a good few years ago that statistics showed
that of people born into the Catholic religion between 1930 and
1960, 60% were regular mass attenders, of Catholics born between
1980 and 1999 16% were considered moderate believers and
attended Mass fairly regularly, after 2000 records are not
reliable because although the families have remained Catholic in
tradition a big percentage only attended Catholic mass for
Baptism, Communion, Confirmation, Marriages and funerals, many
of these rituals were required to attend Catholic schools, the
numbers attending mass regularly could be less than 5% even
though the Catholic population has quadrupled since 1950.
For myself and many like me, someone saying I am a Catholic, or
a Protestant or a Jehovah’s Witness (or whatever) has absolutely
no value or meaning, the value is in how that person lives, what
they do with their life and how they treat others, where is the
value to humanity of a person attending Church every morning and
listening to a biblical text or mumbling words of prayer whilst
in their village or town many are dying of loneliness,
       depression or hunger.
Is the Christian god so uncaring that he prefers this type of
worship over helping others in need.

Thanks Val for your good wishes for my wife.
As for the Catholic Church, our numbers are increasing so the
number attending Mass on Sunday may counter balance the
       declining percentages so far.
Don't write the Catholic Church off Val, it has problems before,
and will rebound shortly. The present Pope who most of our
bishops, priests and cardinals pay homage to will not live
forever. I am ashamed of some of our local priests who extol the
       praises of our Pope.
So far there are no dancing nuns at the altar,* or
irregularities that I can see at two local churches, so far I
can tolerate the 'praises' undeserved as they are.
On the secular front I see that the WEF guys will try again to
get us all vaccinated ,once more and the press will scare the
life out of us if we don't, call us a danger to the population
as they did last time, and stop us from going to Florida. This
time Cardinal Dolan of New York has seen the light and will keep
the churches open this time regardless of the law of the land.
Hopefully, Archbishop Leo of Toronto will do likewise.
       *
in Krakow, Poland (I have been there )
A few dancing nuns danced while bored looking teens and world
youth members looked on. The nuns are completely out of touch
as the bored young people were looking for something to believe
       in, and still are.

Evening Leslie, hope all is well with your wife.
First off on the Covid Vaccine, it has saved many thousdands of
lives over the last few years and will do in the future, of
course not everyone will need vaccines but the elderly and
comprimised definetly will, or they can stay in their homes and
not be danger to themselves and evertyone else.
On Catholicism, Pope Francis is a very decent man who cares
deeply for the church and its future, and apart from JP 2nd is
about the best we've had in decades, you may not want to believe
it but the old Church is dying; its traditions are no longer
seen as relevant to the younger generations, so it either
changes or dies and from what I can see it is doing the latter
as you can well see from your own childrens attitude.

Thank you for your views, rather than discuss the issue here, I
will agree to differ on all points raised.

That is very disappointing Leslie, but If you can’t rebut the
       point, concede.

Francis is the worst Pope since the infamous five bad Popes of
mediaeval times, in the way he criticizes what previous Popes
have considered true teaching, even the Cardinal in charge of
the Portuguese World Youth meeting just held, says you should
not attempt to evangelize, in direct contradiction to the Gospel
       message.
There are many who say the covid shots have done damage to
people, including a former executive of Pfizer in England and
       others.
Cardinal Dolan has already conceded in conscience that he was
       wrong in closing churches.
My daughter Anne Carol has been brain washed as have many others
       since Vatican 2.
But not to worry, I pray she will be reconciled to authentic
       Catholic doctrine.
What I am bothered about is the propaganda campaign to get
people to accept the new 'vaccine'in Canada,.We have just thrown
out hundreds of thousands of old 'vaccines'. Another propaganda
campaign about climate change is well underway. Meanwhile India
and China will burn oil without a care in the world, we in
Canada are subject to the carbon tax. Fortunately, the Premier
of Alberta has suggested to Trudeau where he can stuff it
legally as she will not obey the law.
We should remember the earth was meant for mankind, not the
       other way around.
And finally the good news . I brought Mary home today.
