I am surprised that a Catholic thinks the way you do about the
rosary.
It requires concentration, and persistence to say it well
concentrating on the mysteries of each decade.
Padre Pio said the rosary is the prayer for these times.
Difficult times they are indeed. The latest being the attack on
marriage.
What attack on marriage?
Have people suddenly started invading peoples weddings and
demanding they stop?
Or perhaps you are mixing up the words "attack" and "extension".

Ask yourself a question . How many couples are living together ,
unmarried , without benefit of Christian marriage? The number is
high. How many people get divorced these days? England and Wales
are no longer Christian countries. What on earth - or in the
spiritual realm is behind all this.,
Well, the attack on marriage started in California in the 1960s
.It was called the sexual revolution. Free love, drugs ,
escapism , revolt against the traditions of American parents is
the attack on marriage. Before that time marriage was taken for
granted. In 1957in Canada there was a tremendous increase in the
number of children born to married couples, both of Canadians
and recent immigrants. After the sexual revolution the numbers
dropped significantly and today we cannot replace our existing
population.Few children are born, thanks to this sexual
revolution aided by legislation allowing abortion on demand.

Religion should not be permitted to dictate people's choices
that is very wrong. >:(

Why does it matter to you if they are living together without
the benefit of Christian marriage? They aren't Christians
perhaps, so it would be hypocritical of them to have a Christian
marriage surely?
You haven't stated it, but judging by the above statements you
would much rather people stay together in unhappy marriages than
get divorced. I know you think it was all sweetness and light in
the 1950's but I think you should lay down your rose-tinted
spectacles for a little while:
HTML https://theawarenesscenter.blogspot.com/2012/09/domestic-violence-in-1950s.html
Domestic violence has been around forever. What has not been
around forever is the autonomy of women in being able to escape
that violence. Now, it is still difficult for them, but much
easier than it was in the 1950's in part due to a revolution
against the norms of that time that you are so fond of.
As to fewer children being born, I don't think the world's
population growth really bears that out. We actually could do
with less people on the planet, not more.

Because religion is a human creation and the more extreme ones
have caused a lot of human misery. This board is about the
Catholic religion, which has done itself no favours over the
centuries. The present pope has been doing his best to rectify
the extremism in its doctrine, but it will take a long time to
put it right, imo.

The Catholic religion is not a human creation , but is divinely
inspired.
If it was not for the Catholic religion you would probably be
living under Moslem rule, or worse. You would live like the
primitive barbarians of old, if unlucky, or at best under a
derivative of life under pagan Rome or Greece.
Unfortunately, our present Pope is not the best.

That is your opinion to which you are entitled to believe. But
no decent deity would have inspired a doctrine which has caused
so much wrong doing over the centuries, the Spanish Inquisition
and the dreadful Magdalene laundries, being just a couple

Utter drivel. It is a human creation.
You can't make a supposition as you then went on to do by
claiming you'd be living under this or that regime. The
variables are too great. There is absolutely no way you could
forecast what would have happened if Christianity had not come
about. Stop indulging in "what ifs".

video saying we are educated and the parents are not and we
should not allow the parents to determine what schools should
teach .This teacher said "society" should determine what was
taught.
One of the big problems here is how Conservatives will use a
one-off like this to paint the whole system with one brush. It's
dangerous. Public school has been the only way for so many poor
children to navigate their way out of poverty. This is
especially true of Blacks. The alternative, private Christian
schools, are very difficult to get into for many. Here, black
children are often exempt simply because braiding hair is
against the dress code.
Of, course, this fits well into a Laissez Faire Capitalism model
(which is at the root of the current Fascist movement in the
world--not just here.) An increasing supply of cheap to free
labor is necessary to increase corporate profits and maintain a
healthy Wall Street. It also ensures more crime and thus even
higher numbers of incarcerations, which again feeds into this
model as for-profit prisons are on the rise and make their money
by providing cheap labor to local businesses. (This was
particularly terrible in the Jim Crow South.)
To keep this on topic, Catholicism has a long history of keeping
the masses uneducated, poor, and thus subservient to their
strict rules. It's so odd to me that anything Christian (of
Jesus) would think any system of oppression and coercion which
fosters exploitation would be considered godly and right. At
least the current Pope is very aware of this and speaks out
against it, bless him.
