       Catholic News

Last week a public procession and recitation of the Rosary took
place in Madrid, by thousands of young people. It was the third
year this has been done. It is important to show prayer in a
       secularized society.

I'm all for prayer, alone and with others but I dislike
processions of prayer, they seem unnecessary and ostentatious.
I remember going to Walsingham on a church outing (marvelous
place), and we all walked from shrine to shrine saying the
rosary. Tourists were taking photographs of us along the way.
It was most embarrassing. Never again. The rosary is also very
       tedious. Just my opinion.

It is also important to remember that a secular society often
allows you the freedom to show prayer in public.
I wouldn't try it in an Islamic state.

I am of the 'go to your room and pray in private' preference,
Leslie, but praying together in a group ('when two or three are
gathered...', or at church, etc, is good amongst like minds.
Muslims pray singly and together. There's no need for anyone to
be ostentatious about it, it impresses nobody.
However the South Americans and the Spanish have many festivals
which are joyous occasions and incorporate their religion. A
different culture altogether. It's up to them what they do but
       is apparently enjoyable and festive.
Yes, Andrew, we are fortunate to live in a tolerant, moderate
and secular society here in the UK. People mind their own
business when it comes to the beliefs of others but the majority
don't like it thrust in their faces; however, few do that here.

The JWs, appear to agree with the sexual teaching of the
Catholic Church. I mean the true Roman Catholic teaching as
expressed in the Catechism. I realize that Biden and Nancy
Pelosi are not true Catholics. In fact Nancy Pelosi was recently
excommunicated by the Archbishop of San Francisco .
I also am aware that homosexual acts are practiced by a few
Cardinals at the Vatican, and that our current Pope does nothing
to stop it. And so we have a split Church , hidden from the
average Catholic who does not read about such things, but
carries on regardless, some still go to Church regularly on
       Sundays and weekdays.

I know a public display of a Rosary procession is definitely not
ostentatious. It is not vulgar, but prayerful and necessary to
counteract the political secular, abortion on demand parades,
       and other evil happenings.

I am surprised that a Catholic thinks the way you do about the
       rosary.
It requires concentration, and persistence to say it well
concentrating on the mysteries of each decade.
Padre Pio said the rosary is the prayer for these times.
Difficult times they are indeed. The latest being the attack on
       marriage.

In the end, Our Lady says, My Immaculate Heart will Triumph, and
that I believe, but I have no idea how much suffering we must
       under go before that time.
Before that and the attack on marriage we have spiritual news
about the "Holy Face" of Jesus as described by a nun Mother
Pierina in 1936 devotion to which,I believe, will be essential
in preventing the slavery of mankind under the dominance of the
World Economic Forum. And their leader who has said, "Let zem
       eat zee bugs"
On a related topic,I saw the arrogance of a public school
teacher on a video saying we are educated and the parents are
not and we should not allow the parents to determine what
schools should teach .This teacher said "society" should
       determine what was taught.
She was complaining about the Florida laws Which were about
removal of certain books by the Governor of Florida. The
governor has obviously been listening to parents.[quote
