David Gilmour's guitar solo on the track Time is superb, as with
all his solos. And here's an excellent live version of the track
'Us and Them', featuring the saxophone, one of my favourite
       instruments:

And let's recall the striking memorable LP sleeve artwork:

It was a hot day yesterday and I sat down ,in a chair
thoughtfully provided by commerce, in the shade, putting my
walking stick aside outside a take out small packed lunch store,
watching the people go by while my wife shopped next door at
       Publix.
I watched a tall young girl enter the lunch store and come out
again with a small package. On the back of her blue T shirt was
       written
MUDDY PAWS, Dog Grooming and Care.
She gave me a big grin as she passed.
WOOF, WOOF... It made my day. ;D

I have met some amusing characters in my life who brightened up
our day , when we took ourselves too seriously. Walter Daciuk,
for one who came to my retirement dinner was one such, along
with Eric Niemela who is still living (from Finland) who ran
Toastmasters. He phoned me before Christmas to enquire if I was
still living I suppose. He recalled my date of birth and other
facts he remembered after 18 years. He spoke from his cottage.
Back to Walter. He would say in all seriousness that his family
in Canada would, .."first we pay our taxes, then we eat."
Walter would sit in the cafeteria as I would listening to the
rantings of MS who was finalizing plans of a tax raid about to
take place on some unsuspecting company. Walter would smile as
he heard sounds of MS banging on the table with enthusiasm, and
concluding "Lets go get the ba......" Walter is dead now
       ; God rest his soul.'
Then there was Frank Miklos who had a permanent smile on his
face. Who would tell us the story of his life as first a civil
servant in Hungary, then a civil servant under the Germans, and
finally a civil servant in Canada.
There are two stories that I remember. One was where he parked
is car in one of of the few available parking spots, only to be
confronted by an angry car driver who thought he had stolen his
place at the shopping centre. The irate man drew a crowd as he
called Frank names and told him what he thought of him. When
finished , Frank with a smile said. "Excuse me Sir. Me speakie
       no Englis".

Again a story told by Frank. He was hustled by his supervisor to
get a certain audit in the country finished, that he understood
was top priority. There also was a general understanding that
you leave the office or home and return the same day. Well Frank
set off and got caught in a snow storm and couldn't get to the
job site, and so he spent the night in a nearby motel. The
Provincial Police wouldn't let him travel any further. Frank did
finish the audit and next day things were better and he returned
to the office. The supervisor was angry with him for submitting
travel claims for meals, breakfast and motel bill. Frank
repeated what his supervisor had said to him, and he couldn't do
a thing about it. The travel claims were paid, as they should
       have been.

One more, before I go to church this morning. I was in San
Francisco and didn't want to rent a car from the airport and try
parking downtown, and after finding out that there was Holiday
Inn right in front of the far eastern airline I was auditing fir
a week , I booked it. Well their room was not up to my
standards and their breakfasts at that time were not included.
And so I went to the San Francisco Bart and followed people out
to see where they stopped for breakfast. It was a good thing to
do as muffins and coffee etc were very good where the business
crowd went. The airline itself had no tax problems that I could
find. But a week was too long...

And now I will leave my current address in ten minutes or so and
drive for about an hour to Tampa international to catch a plane
       to Toronto at noon.
       Best wishes to all.

Thanks Bev, My wife and I arrived home at 4:20 pm. I did not
need a wheel chair at Tampa even though I had ordered it. The
only place where a wheelchair needed was Pearson, and I had one
there. The most difficult part was getting up 41 crossing over
to 19, then to 275 N and the airport. The rentaL car place was
found without much trouble, although I did turn on the second
floor instead of the third and had to do the search for Avis all
over again. A man at the car company offered to drive me to Air
Canada instead of taking the train, (for a voluntary tip) .
There was another train to E72 gate (found out by accident) .
Altogether after nearly been put on the plane to Ottawa (my
mistake). An Air Canada employee thought it was amusing. "I
don't want to go there," I said.
I enjoyed the wonderful beaches and fish and chips, at the
Knights of Columbus, group at Saints Peter and Paul the Apostles
Church on 75 north of Cortez on Friday. Best I have tasted .
I do apologize Bev for my accusations about you in one of my
posts, I realize I was jumping wrongly to conclusions about you.

I saw Kwessa (Lukwessa) on BBC World News a few moments ago. I
know her father in law very well, we have been friends since I
was 11.She does an excellent job, and I can see why Kwessa is
one of BBC's top tv announcers, poised, disciplined , speaks
       clearly and looks good.
After putting the coffee pot on, I say a rosary every day, then
I usually switch over to PBS, Buffalo , New York for world news
on BBC. That is how I start my day in Etobicoke.
