I'd say rather while it is still available. Crises which
threaten the whole population tend to result in panic buying
(eg. the Covid 19 epidemic.) Also, unless you fill up a very
large number of 1.5 litre bottles and/or 5 litre canisters, your
supply would soon run out, especially after more than a week or
two. The domestic restrictions here may be reduction of the
       water pressure (the worse the higher up in flat blocks you live;
we're on the second floor, not too bad) or, at worst, cutting
off the supply at certain times, usually overnight. I very much
doubt we'd be left completely dry. Also, the traditional street
fountains* dotted around the city with potable water (we have
one in a nearby square) would probably still function, at least
       for some hours.

I don't recall if I've ever shown a photo of where we live.
Anyway, it's the flat in the middle here, which runs right
through to the back with its own long balcony overlooking a
       spacious area with trees.

Yes, it was built in 1912 and it has very spacious rooms with
high ceilings and the original decorative floor tiles. We had
the kitchen and bathroom modernised back in the mid-1990's so we
have all the mod-cons in the setting of a nice old flat and
       building.

I don't often get bouts of envy, but that looks wonderful.

       Agree, it's beautiful!
Just now remembering after the last hurricane we experienced
voluntary water restrictions because flooding had contaminated
one water supply. We were asked to not run or to minimize
running faucets, dishwashers, washing machines, toilet flushes
and lawn watering. We turned our sprinkler system off for two
weeks, and we did our best to minimize indoor usage. It only
lasted a couple of weeks though.

True, but bear in mind that the restrictions were voluntary.
Bev's family cooperated by switching off the sprinkler system
and limiting indoor usage. I imagine many people simply ignored
the plea given that it was of a voluntary nature.
Presumably any restrictions here (which would be mandatory)
would remain in place until enough rain had fallen to replenish
the reservoirs. That could take months. (I can envisage a sharp
rise in deodorant sales... :o )

So far, so good, Gwinnie! Nice weather here and the leaves are
sprouting on the trees at the back lending themselves to the
spirit of revival and renewal that Easter represents in one
       sense.
       Gelukkig Paasfeest!

Happy Easter to all. We are also celebrating Bob's BD here with
       a family dinner out.
