Books

I picked up a book to read which I had purchased in a plaza
underneath the CITADEL hotel in Ottawa on Friday,November 6
,1998 while attending the 79th A.G.M. 0f P.I.P.S.C. as an
Ontario Region delegate, entitled, "The Abolition of Man." by
C.S.Lewis, I tried to read it the other day. but it makes no
sense to me, although I know Lewis is a popular Christian
author, give me G.K.Chesterton every time.I have read
"Orthodoxy" by Chesterton and found it very interesting, Lewis
also wrote a book called "Miracle" which I read years ago,
failing to understand it. I already believed in Miracles but
his articles and way of writing failed to impress me. Lewis
never became Catholic. I did enjoy His Screwtape Letters. Of
course Lewis who died in 1963, was a professor of medieval and
Renaissance Literature at Oxford and Cambridge. His style of
writing did not appeal to me, I just have difficulty with his
works, no doubt that is my fault and not the fault of C.S.
Lewis.

We all have different tastes in writers, Leslie.
I like CS Lewis very much and have always found his writings
inspirational but it's been a while since I read any of his work
and I may feel differently now. That's normal.
