Remember "The Dress"?

The one that looked blue and black to some people (including
me), and white and gold to others, that is: Well, this Guardian
article is about colour perception, and a test you can do. I see
green more than 75% of the gen. pub., apparently.

Yes, I saw that yesterday on Mumsnet. I didn't really 'get' it,
I could see green and then I saw blue. Somebody else was
talking about turquoise and i failed to see any of that so gave
up :-).

I got this result:
"Your boundary is at hue 171, greener than 68% of the
population. For you, turquoise is blue."
Strange that. I'm not an envious person (green - geddit?) Nor am
I an ecologist ("Just Stop Stupid Pests")
Oh well, in the country of the colour blind, the green man is
king...

Today we put out the blue garbage containers, next week we will
put out black garbage containers. The former is for paper,
cardboard and things that can be recycled. The latter is Every
type of real garbage . Kitchen garbage is in green containers. It
goes out weekly.
I have difficulty distinguishing between the Blue and the Black.
If you make a mistake in what is due alternate weeks for Blue or
Black, they will not be emptied.

I was obviously looking at it wrongly, didn't realise it was a
game. D'oh.

In political terms in America, Gwinnie, where the two main
parties have their own emblematic colours, you would be a
Democrat. The Republican party's colour - oddly enough given its
leftist associations - is red. I'm afraid in the UK, though,
you'd be a true blue Tory! :D
As for the word 'turquoise', it's late Middle English from the
Old French 'pierre turqueise' or ‘Turkish stone’, presumably
because Turkish stones have a bluish hue. (The Rolling
Turquoises doesn't have quite the same ring...)
