Could be though I don't have any :-).
This article is about people being jailed. I keep thinking that
when they are in prison, they will be whipping up support and
recruiting. Prison is known for that.

Kicked off in Belfast last night, not so big as previous, one
arrest.
The anti-racism protestors outnumbered the rioters which is
encouraging.

Quite so, and overcrowding just makes it worse. Prisons have
also been recruiting grounds for jailed Muslim fanatics and hate
preachers. I recall reading many years ago that the prisons in
Kabul during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan became so
overcrowded that the occupation authorities came up with a
rather drastic solution. They took several hundred of the
prisoners out and shot them. Mmmmmmm...
From your second post:

As I mentioned in a recent post, Northern Ireland is the only
region of the UK which has water cannons (six in all) whereas in
the rest of the UK, even if they existed there, government
authorisation of their use would be required first, obviously
too late in any emergency. In any event, their use wasn't
necessary in Belfast given the nature of the protests.
