I am so sorry, I really hoped he would be found even though I'd
not heard of him.

It appears that he died of natural causes according to latest
reports. He was 67 years old and was walking in very high
temperatures in an exposed area, so his death wasn't really out
of the ordinary, sad certainly but hardly tragic.

Further to the above, it seems he died of heat exhaustion.
Perhaps it was rather unwise for a man of his age to go for a
walk (and over rough terrain) in such weather conditions. I know
from personal experience (a holiday in June in Greece and on one
of the Greek isles) just how stiflingly hot it can be there. I
well recall buying a bottle of chilled mineral water which had a
actually turned tepid by the time we had climbed up to the
Acropolis.

At least it was water, as long as you keep hydrated it doesn't
matter if it is tepid or cold. The Chinese believe one should
drink tepid, not cold, water, no idea why.
Tragic means, "causing or characterized by extreme distress or
sorrow". I would say Dr Mosley's death was tragic, I am sure
his wife and family consider it to be so,

I'm sure 'distress' in this context doesn't mean emotional
distress or sorrow but rather physical distress given the
prevailing conditions. There's no suggestion in reports
otherwise. As for his death being 'tragic', naturally it is for
his family but for the rest of us it is an unfortunate death
although not unexpected given his age and the heat. Countless
numbers of people die in a variety of circumstances every day,
many of natural causes like Mr. Mosley. Are they all 'tragic'
deaths?
The other day, I read in the news about a woman and her son
killed by a reckless driver, with her husband and other son
looking on. Now that certainly constitutes two tragic deaths.
As for tepid water, I agree about the need for hydration, but it
tastes foul.
