Correction: it's now pissing down quite heavily, and windy. Talk
about changeable weather!

We had more heavy rain an hour or so ago, but now it's broken
cloud, sunny at the moment, and very windy. The weather's gone
haywire.

The last few days have been alternatively extremely hot (31 C)
(it reached 32 C ) and rainy, stormy weather until yesterday,
Saturday when it rained in the morning and was hot. Later on it
cooled down to about 26 C and we had sunshine. Today, Sunday is
a mystery until it happens.

Well, England is notorious for rainy weather gwinnie, I remember
my last visit to England in September 2019 ..... we were in
Southhampton, Bristol, Liverpool, York, Glasgow, Edinburgh and
Island of Skye. Nevertheless, we enjoyed it , rain and all!
Today, Sunday, which is nearly over it was very cloudy in parts,
sunny in other parts, - of Etobicoke, and it was about 24 C at
noon . And it did not actually rain.

It'll piss down tomorrow. For once I don't mind, as I've just
scattered all-purpose organic fertiliser round my roses, and
it'll save me having to water it in. A dose of fertiliser is
recommended about now, after the first flush of flowers has
finished.

Stifling hot weather continues here with midday temperatures
around 30º and torrid nights only partially alleviated by
ventilators. At least we're spared temperatures in the 40's
being experienced in other parts of Spain, including the far
interior of Catalonia. Intense humidity just makes it worse with
the pores oozing sweat. This is certainly the hottest summer
I've known in over forty years here, not least for the duration
of the high temperatures and humidity.
Think I'll trot to the fridge...

Lovely so far - no clouds, very little breeze, warm but not hot.

Yesterday it cooled down in Etobicoke, and I opened windows and
stopped the air conditioning. It is still off, as we don't need
it. It is supposed to be 14 C. out there.
Grandson will arrive by plane this morning from Vancouver. I
expect him here for lunch.
Vancouver has experienced hot weather recently, but is not (so
far) subject to 'forest fires'. He lives close to the sea in a
condo, away from the heat.

It rained a lot during the night but not today so far. It's
currently quite dark and has been very warm and humid but I
think is now cooling down a bit, more comfortable. The forecast
says 23 C and cloudy, sunny intervals and a moderate breeze.
