Record-breaking heat wave here in Spain with temperatures up in
the mid-40's in some parts. Fortunately, here on the
Mediterranean coast in Barcelona, we never experience such
extremes but in the last two days we've had 33º by midday. The
nights are also hot, which affects sleep and makes for
discomfort. Fortunately, temperatures are forecast to go down to
normal levels after tomorrow, but it will still be hot.

Here in Ireland the weather is fairly warmish but with lots and
lots of heavy rain, and the forecast is similar for the next two
weeks or so, I have not seen rain so heavy in many a long year,
to me it seems we are getting our summer weather from late April
to mid June and then anything the gods can throw at us ???

Been pissing down all day here in Hemel Hempstead - moderately
heavy. No wind to speak of.

Same in London, got drenched on the way home. Having said that,
I do enjoy summer rain (as long as it doesn’t last all summer).

Good sunny weather today, both up North at the cottage and down
home, we arrived home this afternoon. The journey home took 3.5
hours. We did stop at a Tim Hortons in the countryside, for
       coffee.
Guests arrive tomorrow. We won't be there, they know the
combination number . They pay good money for the privilege and
we do our very best to please.
It is going to remain fine weather in Bancroft tomorrow and it
is forecast to rain here in Etobicoke periodically.
I am trying to reduce the time I spend on the computer.I "hate"
the damned thing. I would rather read from two sources that
Descartes, Leibnitz and Kant, believed in an empirical universe
whose ontology was borrowed from St Thomas Aquinas, as they
didn't have a metaphysics of their own. It was if you, couldn't
measure it, feel it or see it as a material thing , it did not
exist. Thus limiting knowledge to the empirical, and thus
eliminating God and knowledge revealed to us. Quite wrong of
       course.
And Darwin has been discredited because of the new species
springing up in the Cambrian period, thus making his gradual
expansion of species he claims to theorize to be wrong. Also,
not Darwin's fault here as he knew nothing of nucleotides,
proteins Rna,DNA and their combinations . If he did he would
have abandoned his theory, as the possibility of combining such
by random chance to have creatures evolve is statistically
impossible in the time allotted. It is much more complicated
       than he thought.
And so an intelligent agent created the creatures in all
periods, including, especially the Cambrian one. Christians call
       this agent God.
       Addendum.
I forgot Comte, and his mechanistic universe.

Dull, overcast, breezy and chilly for July, though not actually
       raining at the moment.

[/quote]The "Cambrian explosion" - the relatively rapid increase
in numbers of species in that period - has been known about for
decades, and is perfectly compatible with neo-Darwinian
evolution. If it wasn't, the vast majority of scientists in
relevant disciplines (not just those with a theological axe to
grind) would have abandoned it. Good theology and good science
are always compatible. If they aren't, one of them is wrong, in
this case the theology. ND evolutio is perfectly compatible with
       real Christianity.

Breaking news: the sun has got his hat on, hip hip hip hooray!
The sun has got his hat on and he's coming out to play!*
It's still mostly overcast, but a patch of blue has appeared,
and the sun is shining. [Later] The sun has buggered off again.
*the next line, in the original '30s lyrics, is eye-wateringly
       racist to modern ears.

Thanks for your view Steve of the Cambrian explosion, which
sometime soon I will discuss on another thread.
The weather here where the sun has not yet risen is gloomy. The
clouds are dull and grey, and cumulus . Hopefully, the Weather
in the Bancroft area will be better.
