Good news, I was beginning to think he was dragging it to Jan
       25.

As I was browsing the news, I just came across this:
  HTML https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13460033/prime-minister-military-service-school-leavers-12-months-general-election.html
I don't believe anyone should be forced to go into the military,
maybe some other sort of voluntary work. What do others think?

National Service, all over again! Sunak must fear the loss of
the Ukraine to Russia and a third world war.
As for elections. There are no longer any questions of having
principles by either of the Labour or Conservative parties. You
may as well call them the Grey and the Blue Party. Anything
       goes!

The National Service nonsense is a cynical attempt to appeal to
       the Blimpish tendency.

I agree with the first part but only with the second if the
person actively wants to donate their time and efforts for free.
Otherwise it’s just unpaid forced labour..

I agree or some sort of paid work; after all, if one was forced
to join the military (God forbid), they would receive a salary.
However, I don't believe in forcing people and most youngsters
find a job of some type (if indeed they can find one, a lot
depends on the area in which they live), to supplement their
allowance while they are in education.
