I sincerely hope sense prevails where the Israel/Gaza war is
concerned.
Netanyahu is likely to do what suits him, just like his best
buddy, Trump. Netanyahu is a secular Jew, he is on his third
marriage and apparently has had multiple affairs! :o Many Jews
want Netanyahu to accept Biden's advice, as shown by the recent
protests in Israel. I suspect the Jews who suffered and died
from the terrible atrocities committed in the concentration
camps during WW2 could see what crimes Netanyahu in committing,
I think they would be shocked and disgusted.

I’ll be surprised if Netanyahu agrees to this, which seems like
an excellent plan. His goal has never been peace.
[/quote]So will I. It does indeed look as tough he's making
impossible demands.

I read an article in the Atlantic Monthly (to which I subscribe)
about Hamas and their “Decolonization” effort to wipe Israel
out, using the slogan “From the River to the Sea.”
The article rightly condemns the horrific Oct. 7 attack on
Israel, which included kidnappings and rapes. It also rightly
likened the attack to a “Mongol raid for slaughter and human
trophies.” But,…
What the writer didn’t address is Israel’s systematic
“decolonization” of Palestinians over the years. Also, no
mention at all about the nearly 40,000 civilians Israel has
killed since.

I feel as though I want to bang their heads together. They could
easily live peaceably alongside each other if they wanted to, in
fact many ordinary citizens on both sides do want to.

I agree, Lyn.

There is a war going on at present.
Before the present war between Israel and Hamas , Jews lived in
Gaza and left voluntarily.
There is also the 1967 War when Israel captured parts the Golan
Heights from Syria ( I have walked on that land). It was done
because Syria being on high ground would fire down from the
hill. Israel is quite right to keep it.

Israel has no right to steal land which does not belong to to
that country.

Check out how the United States took states or places from
Mexico that were not theirs!
In the 1967 War Israel won the Golan Heights from Syria. The
United Nations of all the small countries which call themselves
democratic , but are dictatorships voted against. The United
States can veto the United Nations decisions.
Look at the transfer of Poland to Joe Stalin at the Yalta
agreement of 1945. That Polish case was most unjust as it gave
Poland up to Communist territory. Strange things happen at the
end of a war, both good and bad!
It was President Trump who reversed US policy and acknowledged
Israel could keep the Golan Heights- many years after the Six
Day War of 1967

My point is to make people aware of history about Israel. and
not just Israel. They should be aware that in War, civility
tends to disappear and is replaced by cruelty, avarice and evil.
The victor changes things to suit himself, and heaven help you
if you live in an evil dictatorship.
Mao Tse Tung wrote "Political power come from the barrel of a
gun ."in his little red book.
