A lot of people do not understand the history behind this awful
conflict, Val, They don't realise that the Palestinians lived
there long before 1948 and saying they can go somewhere else is
like telling any of us that we could go and live in, eg France
or Germany (if indeed we could now we (UK) are no longer in the
EU), but you get my drift. Most countries in Europe have a
majority Christian presence, at least nominally, but still they
have diverse culture and it would be a different land. The
upheaval would be dreadful for families well established, often
for generations, here, especially at short notice. I believe
the Palestinians have the right to be in Gaza and remain there.
Historically, Jews were expelled from all over the place and
that was inhumane, they now have a place to call their own
regardless of where they originated and giving up Gaza would not
hurt them. Most people want peace and to be able to live their
lives normally, bringing up their families, taking care of their
elderly, without fear.

The Palestinians are looking for a place to live, Israel won't
accept them after they voted for those monsters the Hamas. Egypt
used to control Gaza, so perhaps part of Egypt can be home for
them.
The ICC is completely out of line in asking for an arrest
warrants for Netanyahoo. I note that Spain, Norway and Ireland
support a homeland for Palestinians. Only the Jews had a case
for a homeland which they now have.Palestinians are wandering
migrants next to Arab countries who have increased and
multiplied and contributed nothing to the economy of Gaza and
rely instead on handouts from the U.N.
Israel has now recalled their ambassadors from Spain, Norway and
Ireland.Good for them.

The Palestinians are not looking for a place to live, they are
in their homeland 'Palestine', living in the West Bank and Gaza.
Benjamin Netanyahu would be in jail now if thw Hamas terrorists
didn't get into Israel on October 7 2023, he needs this conflict
to continue to keep himself and his other criminal cronies out
of prison.
How was it possible that Hamas Terrorists were able to enter
Israel so easily, this impenetrable fence is a 7-meter wall with
sensors, remote-control machine guns and barbed wire in the
three areas where the border runs adjacent to Israeli
settlements, there are also outposts every few hundred meters,
there are mine fields and armoured patrols, and yet these Hamas
terrorists got through so easily, somehow local police were sent
on errands as were some military personel, leaving these areas
unprotected.
You would have to wonder, seeing as Israel has spies everywhere
in Gaza how they didn't kmow, or want to know about the attack,
as I posted earlier Nethanyahu would be in prison now if this
didn't happen

That is a new one which every Israeli who fought for Israel
will disagree with.
Ther is no point in continuing this discussion .

At least you admit it is their homeland.
It's good to discuss the situation but if you don't want to,
Leslie, you don't have to. However, there are not many of us
here to discuss.

That was a quote from Val which I now have enclosed in italics.
I don't say that at all. This war will end when Israel is
recognized as a nation and Hamas is defeated. Our Canadian UN
rep said that you have to meet certain conditions before
becoming a nation. One is ability to govern oneself, there are
a few more conditions too that Bob Rae mentioned. He is Canadian
and although not born Jewish married into a Jewish family. At
university he was a student leader, I was a part time student at
that time. He also was the Premier of Ontario and an NDP, and
later on a Liberal. Finally he is our ambassador to the United
Nations. I bumped into him by accident at Pearson once, He
doesn't know me and I don't know him. We didn't speak to each
other.

I’ll be surprised if Netanyahu agrees to this, which seems like
an excellent plan. His goal has never been peace.
