I disagree with some of it, most of it. In fact it is a very
       complex subject.

I've always assumed that it is the sexual aspect which is
condemned, which violates the original biological mandate
assigned purely to male and female. Exclude that element and a
close relationship between two members of the same gender (ie.
male or female) is perfectly acceptable. Not, I would add, to
the extent of men referring to their 'husbands' and women their
'wives' as the key element is absent.
Lunchtime TV news here today briefly reported that Pope Francis
has condemned gay marriage, the recent hullabaloo over briefly
blessing gay couples at church services notwithstanding.

Thanks for posting that article, Steve. I will have to digest
it further, something on this subject has recently come up on a
facebook group to which I belong and I want to be well armed
       before wading in.

I agree fully with the contents of your first paragraph.
