Humidity is horrible and I sympathise with you, Greg (though we
only get about two weeks of it per year, which is bad enough).
I expect you have a fan or an air conditioning unit. Keep a
bowl of water next to your bed with a sponge so you can cool
       yourself down in the night.
Yes, AllicinMax is a garlic derivative and it is very good. As
well as a nasty boil, it also got rid of infection in a tooth
recently. It might not be a bad idea to take it as a precaution
against the leaking spot on your leg becoming infected.
Good luck to you, I've no more suggestions.

Actually, the night air inside is fairly cool and a fan or
airconditioning would just make it colder. Humidity is not
really about temperature, although I can't explain the
technicalities of it, just that it makes you feel oppressively
warm and clammy from the moisture in the air and, I suppose,
surrounding air pressure. Just have to grin and bare it (my body
       that is! :D )

Agree on humidity. We have A/C on most of the year. The biggest
reason is it works as a dehumidifier. But, I still remember the
four days/nights after the first hurricane that hit us in 2004.
Sleep or lack there of was the worst part. I would get a
humidifier at least. In my experience high temps with low
       humidity feel cooler.
Gwinnie, Agree on music or hobbies can also have a similar
       mindful effect.

I've been having computer problems and offline for a while, but
back thanks to my computer nerdy friend, Xavi. If they occur
again and I'm offline longer, don't worry that it's due to
health issues. My computer's old and I know I'll have to replace
       it one day.

When you reach or nearly reach in my wife's case, the
nonagenarian era you tend to get tired easily.Last night after
a Mission lasting from 7:30 to 9 p.m. we found our car in the
dark and headed home for bed. this morning up or awake by 5:a.m.
and downstairs by 5:20 a.m. doing Yoga in my wife's case and
some weights on the first day of Spring in my case. We attended
Mass at 8:15 a.am. followed directly driving to Costco for food
(Mary had no breakfast) I had had a small bowl of Kellogs corn
flakes . We got home at 10:35 a.m. and I fell asleep after
eating a banana and chocolate bun in front of tv. Then I
promptly fell asleep to find my wife asleep in bed.
Utterly exhausted. But, we will still attend the Mission
       tonight.
I am writing this to let you know what is like to be 90 or close
to 90 in today's world. Maybe our time will be up in a year. I
really don't know. Back to snoozing in front of tv. Oh, I
forgot this morning at 7:a.m. our Toronto time I phoned the
Canada Revenue Agency to discuss income taxes. They do start at
8:am. in Nova Scotia and at 8:30.a.m.in Newfoundland They were
up and alive or one place was up down East as I got an answer
       within 10 minutes.

       Glad you’re ok.
I am a great believer in keeping equipment going as long as
possible. I’m also planning a return to fountain pens and
       refillable pencils and biros.

Agreed about fountain pens. I have a really nice one, not an
original old one but a faithful replica of such a one. It's a
pleasure writing with it, using real ink. I bought it in a
lovely old shop specialising in writing products in the centre
here. Here's a photo of it:

I keep my ink in an old Mont Blanc bottle (the nearest i'll ever
get to a Mont Blanc pen...)

I used to have a Parker set - fountain, ballpoint and pencil, in
       their own case.

I looked at the previous page to work out how we went from
discussing our ailments to fountain pens :-).
I hope your leg and sleep have improved, Greg, and that Steve's
lipid etc levels have come down though I doubt he has had
another blood test, it's a bit soon to check. My foot
completely recovered as I knew it would, it was just bruised, no
skin broken. We know about Leslie's hernia, raised BP and heart
murmur and I pray all is under control there.
Bev, we can be vaccinated against meningitis and sepsis. I
haven't had it (I intend to avoid sepsis), but it is available
and free to over-65s here, also pneumonia vaccine.
