Catholic is not a religion. Both the creed for protestant
English Catholic Church and Roman Catholic Church says 'The Holy
Catholic Church.' Because the church is 'universal'.
Even Christian Church is incorrect. The term 'Christian' was an
insult for a believer.
The NT speaks clearly of believers in the second covenant being
sown into the original line of Jews.
So believers (Gentiles)like the Jews are now one in the second
Covenant through Christ the Messiah. The first commandment
answers the argument about one God being the only one. The
reason Christ says to some; "Go away I never knew you" is
because you must obey rhe commandments all summed up in his two.
Love God.

If we could all do that (and I know many of us try), the world
would be a better place.

Agreed, and I am not getting into a religious discussion at the
present time - if I can help it!

That is just the Golden Rule, Leslie; treat others as we would
like to be treated. Group hug ((((Thaddeans)))) :-). I trust
all are well this fine morning.

All is well Lyn, so far..... the moon is shining brightly
through the tv room window, and BBC news on PBS (Buffalo) starts
in one half hour. Sometimes it is boring as yesterday the BBC
spent over 15 minutes discussing a South African election, but
most times we get a more varied news broadcast. My friend Ronald
of Leicester has a daughter in law who sometimes reads the BBC
news here. Haven't seen her for ages on tv..
I checked the obituaries yesterday and Ronald is still with us.
;D I write to him twice each year (he has no computer) at the
end of June as his birthday is in early July. It can take about
four days by mail, that is if your mail catches the evening
flight from Pearson airport to London on a BA flight overnight.

I am reading a book by F,C, Copleston titled Aquinas. The
English is beautiful, and I need to improve my English not just
to learn the theological and philosophical viewpoints of St.
Thomas Aquinas (1224/5 - 1274). Where on the internet do you
read such phrases as "This vision is the actualization of man's
highest potentialities, Supernatural in character it yet
involves the fullest perfecting of the human personality both in
its cognitive and affective aspects."
Beautifully written isn't it ?
Fr. Copleston.S.J. also wrote about the Cartesian phrase.
"cogito ergo sum". Descartes envisaged a material universe only,
without the spiritual. Contrary to Descartes I have always
understood that you perceive your own existence first before you
think abut anything.

Someone took away th pressure washer between 11a.m. and noon
today. They never rang the bell so we didn't know that. They
still have to be paid for work done. This company believes and
practices the division of labour.

I went to Confession yesterday, prior to my short trip to
Ireland . We leave soon. I haven't packed yet but have a brand
new suitcase to fill. Something warm and something cool to wear
- you never know the temperature, or even whether or not it will
rain. So be it. The wife and I have health insurance from my
PIPSC job. It is an all inclusive (prepaid) trip but have
$1,500 Euros cash between the three of us. It should be more
than adequate.
I have been to many places from Jordan and Israel to Ecuador
(Galapagos) to mention a few. And this I think will be my last
trip overseas ( apart from Florida).
