Im scratching my head on how to change the date to our standard
format and the temp from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Any help would
       be appreciated.

There may be more than one way to change the date format to
mm/dd/yyyy used in the US. Here's what i do. Go to Expert Mode
and SSH. Log in. Then type
       sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales
Scroll down that list and de-select everything except for
en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8. The asterisk means selected. No asterisk
means not selected. Use the keyboard tab key to select OK.
Again use the keyboard tab key and spacebar to select
en_US.UTF-8 and then press OK. I am not sure if the new locale
takes effect immediately or if a reboot is needed.
