       Why I like TGIF

       Hi TGIF members,
       I have played with most of the DMR networks out there and
       decided to land on TGIF for the following reasons:
       - Simple setup with only one server. Yes, it's not
       decentralized, but simplicity comes at a price.
       - Only 1 TG can be used at a time and it never expires (no
       static or dynamic TGs). The notion of dynamic TGs can go wild
       very quickly on busy TGs. I like the idea of a permanent TG so
       that when I turn on my radio I don't have to key in to reconnect
       to my favorite TG.
       - Clean and simple dashboard to remotely monitor your hotspots,
       see who was lastheard, and most importantly, disconnect and
       reconnect to another TG via the self-care panel. On FreeDMR you
       can get stuck on a busy TG with just no silence to key in your
       4000 call or dashboard to do it remotely.
       - You can have your own personal TG based on your DMR ID and
       fully manage it. Brandmeister advertises this option and I
       opened a ticket about a month ago but still no feedback.
       - You can ask for a random TG ID and even ask for a specific TG
       ID you like. Great for a club, group of friends, city, event....
       Then you can fully manage that TG (ban people, lock it, remove
       it from LH and scan lists...). This is a pretty unique feature
       that makes TGIF stand out from the other networks.
       - TGIF allows and supports bridged operations as provided by
       Kaphian and DoDropIn, (Echolink, AllStarLink, YSF, FCS, Wires-X,
       M17, NXDN, DMR+, QRM, FreeDMR, XFN, D-Star, IRLP, Peanut,
       P25...). Brandmeisted has killed any attempt to have a bridge
       with their network.
       - The original TGIF TG 31665 (English only) has great members
       and good technical content.
       On the negative side:
       - You can only connect to one TG at a time. To overcome this, I
       use two hotspots to monitor my TG of choice and my personal TG
       using a scan list. I tried the 777 scan feature, but it wouldn't
       be useful for my specific use case.
       - The spoken language option for a TG is limited to one
       language. It would be nice to have more options.
       - TG IDs are on a first-come, first-served basis, so sometimes
       they overlap with some established numbering in the DMR world
       (e.g. 208 is mostly used for France). There is no policy yet to
       have TG IDs expire after a certain amount of inactivity.
