       TGIF no go on PI_Star DMRGateway
   DIR By: WB5DXG

       ---------------------------------------------------------
       I have a Radioddity GD77 DMR radio and DVMega hotspot with
       PI-Star 4.1.5. I have been able to setup access to D-Star and
       Brandmeister, DMR+ and XLX networks using DMRGateway. I have hit
       a brick wall with TGIF. Watching the TGIF monitor page, I only
       see when I transmit to the Parrot on 9990 and I do not get a
       response from it. When I try to connect to a talkgroup, I do not
       see my transmission on the monitor page. I have attached my TGIF
       settings from the DMRGateway INI file. I have commented out the
       rewrite rules for time slot 1 in case they were causing an
       issue, but the results are the same. I have also tried both
       private and group calls without any success. Any help would be
       appreciated.

       A few suggestions:
       1) Don't comment out lines. Pi-Star does not like commented
       lines and will likely not parse the file correctly with any
       present.
       2) Try appending a (not previously used) two digit suffix to
       your DMRID. Like 318310210, 318310220, and so on.
       3) Replace passw0rd with a generated secure one after completing
       the registration process on the tgif website.
       4) You seem to be missing a parameter that I have in mine
       (Local=62035). My stanzas for each network use a unique number
       in that line (62033, 62034, 62035 and so on).
       Here's my stanza for TGIF for comparison. Caveat: I am using
       Phil, VE3RD's excellently modified DMRGateway-4, so my rewrite
       rules are a bit different):
       [DMR Network 4]
       Enabled=1
       Name=TGIF
       Id=311164434
       Address=tgif.network
       Port=62031
       Local=62035
       TGRewrite0=2,1,2,1,9999999
       TGRewrite1=2,14000001,2,1,999999
       PCRewrite0=2,9990,2,9990,1
       PCRewrite1=2,14009990,2,9990,1
       SrcRewrite0=2,9990,2,WB3IHY,1
       Password=(16 digit secure password redacted)
       Location=1
       Debug=0
       Hope some/all of that is of some help.

       Joe, WB3IHY

       Thanks Joe. I will give these a try. Unfortunately I have been
       unable to register for a password. I have completed the
       registration process 3 times and have not received a
       verification email. I emailed support 3 times about the issue
       and got no response. Yesterday I posted this to the forum and so
       far no response there. So I will have to stay with legacy mode
       until I get a response on the registration.

       Hi Russell,
       Let me know how you make out with the Gateway. With regard to
       TGIF registration, I'll make an admin aware of the situation and
       see if something can be done.
       If I had to make a wild guess, I'd wager that there's an issue
       with emails getting through to your email provider
       (spam/blacklist blocking, and so on.). The support team is
       usually VERY good at responding in a timely manner.
       Regards,
       Joe, WB3IHY

       Thanks Joe,
       I made all the changes one at a time and tried to connect after
       each one. Still no success. No matter what I do the only thing I
       see on the TGIF monitor is the transmission to 9990, the Parrot
       talkgoup. All of my transmissions are in the PI-Star log. I need
       to figure out how to do some more debugging in PI-Star so that I
       can see where the Hotspot is sending the transmissions and be
       sure they are getting on the correct network.
       Thanks for contacting admin about my registration problem. Maybe
       when that is sorted out and I cannot connect to the network with
       an authorized account I have success.

       Problem solved Joe. I was using TallkGroup 39139 for testing. I
       saw on the Facebook group where it was shutting down today. I
       changed to a TalkGroup that is in the active list on the
       TGIF.Network page and it now works. Thanks for your assistance.

       Excellent! Glad that it's working for you.
       Hopefully you'll have similar success with the network
       registration/secure password issue. Never hurts to have a
       secured connection, especially when some of the talkgroups may
       require one.
       Incidentally, 31665 (the "main" one) switched to just such a
       talkgroup not long ago. Just saying.
