RESOLVED: Probable TGIF Host Network Problem
DIR By: k2dls

---------------------------------------------------------
After a few reports from friends, I took at look at my own
hotspot connection to TGIF:
M: 2021-08-04 14:26:47.571 TGIF_Network, Closing DMR Network
M: 2021-08-04 14:26:47.571 TGIF_Network, Opening DMR Network
E: 2021-08-04 14:27:57.652 TGIF_Network, Connection to the
master has timed out, retrying connection
Repeatedly...
Restart of mmdvmhost and dmrgateway services yield the same
result.
Please take a look.

Both of my hotspots' connections are stable, showing none of the
disconnects that your log illustrates.
Caveat: I'm using VE3RD's modified DMRGateway-4 rather than the
stock version that comes with Pi-Star. I have seen similar
issues to what you're describing mentioned on Discord, the
Pi-Star forums, etc. when using the stock version. And not
specific/limited to TGIF network connectivity, either.
Just saying.

The ops having the issue are indeed using Pi-Star.
However, the other networks we use (BM, HBlink, DMR+) are all
working fine.

I found that I was logged on to TGIF from an unexpected IP. It
is possible that my TGIF credentials were left in a template
that I put on a friend's hotspot. So I changed my hotspot
credentials and that ought to solve it.
:D
Update: I checked and found that while my ID number was on a
friend's hotspot, it did not have my password. I am surprised
it could logon as I have a security key.

Not surprising at all. The TGIF SERVER still accepts legacy
connections using the old password of passw0rd. Certain
TALKGROUPS on the network (prime example being 31665) will only
accept users using secured connections using the security key.
That's at the discretion of the individual talkgroup admins.
