" Don Birnam, long-time alcoholic, has been "on the wagon" for
ten days and seems to be over the worst; but his craving has
just become more insidious. Evading a country weekend planned by
his brother Wick and girlfriend Helen, he begins a four-day
bender. In flashbacks we see past events, all gone wrong because
of the bottle. But this bout looks like being his last...one way
or the other."

I actually watched this movie a few decades ago. It's very good
and depressing. I would like to watch it again.

Hey you know that movie we saw Personnel Affair 53' about that
guy who tried to encourage sexualization of a young girl but she
ran off and people thought he had terminated her. It was back up
on YT had been for a long time and as soon as I booked marked it
the film and the guy's entire account was killed...lol. Someone
is watching me...lol.
I thought I would add it back up and make you watch it again
since you got the film all wrong...

Oh, I remember pieces of it when I looked it up. But not the
whole thing. I remember the water. River? Creek? That's it.

They took it down from YT. It was about that English teacher who
had a female student in love with him and he agree to offer
extra help and after visiting his home she disappeared.

Oh yeah. I remember that. I just don't remember what happened to
her. Did he kill her? Did she slip? Did someone else kill her?
Nope. Nothing.

The girl just came home. She ran away for three days. Turned the
whole town upside down and almost destroyed the teacher and his
wife's lives together.

Yeah that was one of those old ahead of it's time British films.
I wouldn't normally watch it but I was in love with Gene Tierny
during earlier years.
