"A Puerto Rican ex-con pledges to stay away from his former drug
dealing ways but finds himself being dragged back by his past
connections and the naive machinations of his lawyer and best
friend. Hoping to raise enough money to get away from New York,
Carlito Brigante takes on the job of running a nightclub, renews
an affair with a dancer but old associates and old instincts
suck him back into a world of violence and mistrust."
The best gangster films from the 90's.

Hello there! Why do I think I saw this? Maybe I didn't though.
I will have to check it out.
I visited my daughter this weekend and stayed up on my last
night watching "The Departed." It is a long movie - 2-1/2
hours. Well, at about 15 minutes before the end, I realized
that I had watched it a long time ago. I'm telling you, that is
the plus side of memory loss - you can enjoy a movie like it was
the first time watching it. ;D

I recall that you had told me that you were a fan of Al Pacino
as well as Robert de Niro and Carlito's Way is considered one of
Pacino's best performances plus it's an old film.
Yeah that site goes down every now and then. Actually your ISP
occasionally blocks sites they feel have ripped or file share on
it. That's why those sites keep advertising VPN...lol. But a lot
of browsers offer free Proxies these days anyways.
Here is the trailer for it:

I have to think that I've watched this movie but with my
terrible memory, I know I will enjoy it all over again. It
looks very good with just the right amount of violence. hahah
It will still be tame compared to a Quentin Tarantino movie.
Yeah, I like Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson, Robert De Niro, Anthony
Hopkins and Sean Penn. All good actors. I also like Brad Pitt,
Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman....
...I'm sure I could go on and on.

Yeah Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman are all great actors
as well. I always though Christian Slater and Ben Aflak would
move up in the ranks but they never did that much and to my
surprise it was Leonardo diCaprio that turned out to be in the
ranks of Pacino and DeNiro.

That is so true, H. Slater and Affleck both seemed to have the
potential but they fizzled out like fireworks that turn out to
be duds.

Yeah they went down pretty hard. Odd thing is I saw them in
difficult roles they played very well but then just tapped out
afterwards. And the sad part is Marky Mark and Funky Bunch guy
did better than them.

Yeah right? I'm always surprised to see Marky Mark in roles. I
don't know who Funky Bunch is.
