       [Balance] Selling Price of Items
       By: Skasian Date: October 20, 2011, 2:28 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       The selling price of items especially those that combine into
       'Sets' or 'Synthesis' need to be tweaked.
       It makes no sense that:
       - 3 items that sell for 200 each (600 total)
       - Combine sells for 450 (i.e. less than the 600)
       - In essence you are punishing players for combining items to
       get through the game knowing that they have to restart by
       selling their items and using 'give up'. Sell value should be at
       minimum the same as the combine sell value of all their parts.
       - Item that you buy for 1000 sells for 1200?? (I.e. Third
       Hand).
       - 4 items that combine together, one which is 1000+ selling
       value
       - After combined, total selling value is <1000? (can't give
       specific example but happened while I was building stuff).
       - 2 items that combine but require a recipe.
       - Selling price of the combine item seems to ignore price spent
       on recipe = huge loss on investment with some of the higher-tier
       items when making them. Especially if I want to play the game
       again using 'Give Up'.
       In short, all the prices of the items need to be properly
       balanced out so they make sense. The problems listed aren't the
       only ones but I merely wanted to point out some of the imbalance
       I encountered when shopping.
       The reason why this is important is because you have created a
       map which is based strongly around the 'Give Up' function (which
       is not a bad thing). Since the main objective of giving up would
       be to carry over gold, you must balance out the gold system so
       that you are not punishing players for trying to make some
       money. As the forums seem to indicate, it is impossible to fully
       experience the game without restarting once or twice. Please
       don't leave the end user wondering how the hell did you come up
       with item prices, seems like you just rolled your face on the
       number pad for a price

       Sell values are odd and should be fixed you have a great point.
       I too have been a little bothered by them.
       However, as this game is in beta I think the easiest fix for now
       is to calculate how much you think was fair price for all the
       items you sold and cheat to give yourself the difference :) This
       can create artificial balance for the time being and/or make it
       possible to fully experience all the content with out having to
       use more give ups than desired.

       The current sale rate is 75% of the original price. Synthesis
       recipes cost same amount as the real items. Items prices are
       made based on their stats and specialities. They are not all
       100% calculated and some of the prices are just "thrown" to the
       game(especially the prices of specialities).
       Here's the list:
       Attack Damage = 10
       Attack Speed(5%) = 150
       Max Hit points = 1
       Hit Points Regeneration = 50
       Hit Points Regeneration(1%/sec) = 20
       Max Mana = 1,5
       Mana Regeneration = 100
       Mana Regeneration(1%/sec) = 30
       Intelligence = 30
       Agility = 30
       Strength = 30
       Armor = 50
       Movement Speed = 4
       Maximum vitality = 300
       Magic Damage = 3
       Magic Damage(1%) = 100
       Steal Chance(1%) = 20
       Extra gold from enemies(1%) = 20
       Extra experience from enemies (1%) = 15
       Luck(1) = 200
       Evasion = 150
       Critical dmg = 50

       Third Hand is exception because it's sold by a Black Merchant.
       There's always a chance you'll pay more than that 1000(prices
       are 1500, 1250, 1000, 750, 500 and the lowest amount you can buy
       it is 1000).

       I just gave hypothetical examples based on what I experienced
       through the game as I don't exactly remember the exact numbers.
       I'll go through and find you a proper example when I have time,
       busy week this week (final week of uni EVERRR).
       In general I found you get for gold selling off individual
       components then you did combining them and selling off. Perhaps
       it's because of the way you've done the pricing (i.e. based on
       the stats of each item).
       I think it's cause:
       Item 1:
       5 str
       Item 2:
       10 str
       Combine:
       12 str
       Therefore, individual is worth more. Just a theory although I
       have no proof till I reopen the game again.

       Combined items are always stronger never weaker. It is the cost
       in some cases that goes down :)

       Combine:
       12 str[/quote]
       This shouldn't happen unless it's you're creating a synthesis
       item. Usually then there's a gem that "makes" the item stronger.
