Chapter 6: Vampire Lord... help!

So the Vampire Lord in Chapter 6 periodically uses an ability
that makes him disappear and summons a few random vampires.
After I kill those random vampires, he comes back and is fully
healed. He does this fairly frequently (every 45 seconds?), so
there's no way I can do more than about 30,000 damage. After
having this happen 25 times, I've decided to give up and ask...
Does anyone know the secret to killing the Vampire Lord?

I had a lot of trouble with him too. I think he's too strong for
a mini-boss. The way I beat him was simply to not run away,
ever. Just sit there and keep nailing the shit out of him,
because everytime I ran he would just heal himself and all my
work would be down the drain. Now, he still healed himself a
couple times, and I did lose 8 lives, but I ultimately won. I
think either his instant heal or his ability to wipe out a
4500hp phodom in 2 seconds flat needs to be nerfed. He is a
mini-boss, after all. Perhaps just make it so he heals, say, 25%
of his life back when he does that instant heal. That would even
the odds a bit, without making him easy.
Unless, of course, there is some secret to beating him? I did
fight him without Galeoth, so that may have been the problem.
Anyway, good luck. Fortunately, by this point in the game you
should have enough honor/boss points to be able to handle losing
a bunch of lives.

Aero. It is amazing, and I can't wait to see the finished

Just have more than 1 unit when fighting against the vampire.
When it starts to suck your life run with that unit away to
disabled the spell.
There was another trick: when any kind of vampire killed any of
player's unit the boss was healed to full. But I think I removed
that thing.

There are many posts about that imba boss, in order to defeat
this boss, first you have to understand his skills first. He
have high siphon life (active), summons and health regenerate
very fast, when you beat him to 50% (or 25%) of his health, he
become spell immune. So this is the stragedy:
- RESERVE DISABLE such as: Impact Flare, Explosion, Freeze, ...
When he active his siphon life, disable him and run for a while,
then come and hit him with all spell.
- USE NUKE on the summons, yeah, the longer you take to defeat
his summons, the more he will regen. So, use all nuke all the
summons. The best spell to use here is Fradz's dark power which
you steal from the Elite boss in chapter 2. Phodom's Explosion
and Fradz's Blade Storm is also good.
- When he become spell immune, DPS and Fradz's Invisibility is
very good to use. So equip Fradz with equipments that increase
Dam and Critical Dam.
- Final thing, this boss is not the one who you can kill easily
without items. So make sure you have acquire some good items
before face him.

Thanks for the tips. So, he regens health quickly when he isn't
there? I always thought it was some spell that allowed him to
instantly regen all his health. That may be why it was "easier"
to beat him by not running away. I would kill the summons
quickly. As for his siphon life, I had trouble seeing when he
was using it. I generally rely on animations to tell when I need
to run, and I guess him not using the "green stream" animation
threw me off.
Ah, well. Honestly, you end up with a decent amount of
boss/honor points by that point in the game (if you do
everything), so losing some lives isn't all that terrible.
Easily one of the hardest battles though.

As far as I remember, he pause about 1 second before using
siphon life. If you have Fradz's speedy boost, you will have no
trouble avoid his siphon life.

I just fought him again after using -give up, and he was a lot
easier. Only died a couple times, and was about to escape a
couple times as he used his life drain. I do think that he is
too difficult for first time players, though.

If you see some red effect then you know the life steal is
activated. I could make this a little easier by adding one extra
effect when the spell starts. Would this help?

Sorry for the late reply (was traveling), but that would help
tremendously. If you want you can also only implement it on
Normal difficulty (if that's possible, and easily done). One of
the hardest parts really was not knowing when the life steal was
occurring, especially my first time through the campaign.
What a campaign though! Playing through again after using -give
up was such a blast. Getting all those amazing synthesis items.

Thanks. It can be done but I don't like things that can confuse
the player so I'll add it to all difficulties.
