News of the campaign

Hello everyone.
Before everything, I would like to thank you from all the
feedback, negative or positive, you've given towards the
project. Without you, this project wouldn't be as good as it is
now. Now, I would like to tell you little about how things are
and how does the future look.
First of all, I've been making last few weeks a new major
version which will improve the campaign overall. The next
version will have many changes such as potions are fully now in
Restore Panel, Background stories added(also known as book
system) and many Elite and Epic bosses are improved. The next
major version will come in about two weeks from this day.
There's not much to be done anymore, just testing things I have
added.
Here's current change log which will eventually grow larger.

CHANGES:

[*] Added hints to the campaign.
[*] Now there are totally of 9 Spell Book Spells instead of 12.
Also espers are put to the Spell Book.
[*] Potions remade.
[*] Lucky Boxes remade.
[*] New system! Books! Now you can read books that tells
background story of the game.
[*] Ability descriptions improved.
[*] Ability values balanced.
[*] Changed abilities hotkeys from "Z, X, C, V" to "Q, W, E, R".
[*] Chapter 2 Elite Boss remade.
[*] Chapter 2 Epic Boss remade.
[*] Chapter 4 Elite Boss remade.
[*] Chapter 5 Epic Boss remade.
[*] Chapter 7 Epic Boss remade.
[*] Some fixes to chapters 8 to make it work properly(like
loading from chapter 7).
[*] Fixes all over the campaign.

After 1.8, I'll probably still create time to time some minor
versions, but I'll go most likely with full determination to
chapter 9. Here are things to do before full version:

[*] Chapter 2 main story line remade(not sure if I will do
this).
[*] Chapter 3 remade(not sure if I will do this).

The website has been improved with five new buttons. It cost for
me 20? and every year I'll have to pay 12? for website
maintenance. My money is becoming so less that added that donate
button. If anyone has extra money, go ahead and support the
project.
Also I added Facebook and Wiki. I still want to resurrect our
Wiki team and Facebook will give us more attention, hopefully.
Chat button in other case will bring more activity to chat and
download to make it easier to download the campaign.
Tomorrow I go to a little Summer Trip, so I won't be here until
Sunday.

I know how you feel Wsaw. Personally, I'm just waiting until
after this update comes to do my videos. I've been anxiously
waiting (and working on) this update so I'm happy it's coming
soon. By then I can finally upload my new videos!
An update very well worth waiting for.

i honestly feel guilty of doing the videos halfway and delete
and doing it again. Worst of all i never complete or fulfill my
promises (items walkthrough and videos) Sorry Aero !
I also feel happy that you are doing great ! You can upload like
2 to 3 videos a day while i use almost a day just to upload one
video (my line sucks terribly since the speed is only like 1 to
2 MB speed).
I want to say thank you for you to continue my precious dream of
uploading this gameplay !

You shouldn't feel guilty at all. You can only do so much with
these videos, especially with your connection. You do what you
can and that's all that matters in terms of gameplay, I'm just
happy that there actually is someone also doing videos, no
matter how many they put out.
You actually were the one to inspire me to do these, so really I
should be thanking you. Don't worry though, once this new update
comes up, it'll be full speed ahead with videos.

Thanks for the message. Hmm, just two persons? I'm now seriously
thinking how to get more active persons here.
Anyway, when I was traveling, I took my notebook with me. When I
had nothing else to do I planned TCO. I got over 20 pages full
of text about everything related to the story and improvements
to the campaign. I got so much that stuff I'm fully thrilled. I
just hope enough people will actually see the coming versions
and how great the game will become.

i've been updating my youtube account (like connecting to my
facebook page and promoting myself so people would check all
kinds of my video). I also learning Adobe Photoshop CS4 5 and 6
so i can make my logo and design (though this is my final year
so i will focus more on my studies then playing).
I got a few fans of warcraft 3 games and i already told them
about this site and the epic-ness of this game.
Hope that helps .
Oh yeah ! I will try my best to online as much as possible .

I just signed up (well logged in actually, I forgot I even had
an account) to say that even though it appears people aren't
active there will be others like me who check the Campaign every
few months to see how it's coming along. I check every few
months since 2008/2009 when it was still Alpha version 3.3a, but
I don't post because I like to forget about the Campaign and
come back months later to see that lots has changed because I
don't like waiting :)
I will always check to see if the game finally finished even if
it takes another 3 years.

You are saying that people here are inactive and you are pretty
much doing the same thing. Oh the irony. You don't like waiting?
Of course nobody likes waiting and I can see that you are quite
enthusiastic about the campaign yet you want to forget about it.

Well Doomlord, congratulations, you just answered your own
question. I mean with such friendly and understanding
moderators, it's a miracle, that people are still posting in
this board at all. (Yes, I already swore to myself to never post
something again, but now I can't resist to rub this into your
face)
I'm not sure how, but in some way you seem to think, that the
people playing the campaign and following its development are
responsible for this board. And here comes the clue of all: What
are you complaining about:
You are not complaining about to less help, or about a bad going
project. You complain about most people only visiting "Help me"
and "Bug reports" subforums. You know all these people you are
flaming so hard, they are here, posting in these two Forums,
because they play TCO and want to help improve the project, (or
at least continue testing it)....
So you are pissed about people not introducing, taking part in
Offtopic-Spam Threads and Competitions. About the competitions,
they usually require some time to think of something and
secondly you should be creative for them. I am sorry, that most
people are not creative enough, to think they can match against
aero.
To the inactiveness in all other Threads, I will tell you
something:
They are not contributing to the project, they are only for
entertainment reasons. And sorry, but most people have other
communities for things like "best songs" or "More about you" and
10 times the same is boring. But you haven't obviously and are
furious about all the others not entertaining you.
But if you really want to get more players, there is one tiny
thing you might do:
Change your point of view: Don't complain about the people, who
are already here, but be grateful for their posts.
Oh and you might also try to stop the flaming.... a flaming
global moderator never attracts members...
Just take Alric as an Example of how not to do it. He will never
ever again post something here and I guess this will not help to
get more active members.
And because I'm overly friendly today: Here would be an
alternative answer to Alrics post:

OK, this post just got far longer, than I intended. But I think
I'm done now.
Oh, and yes, I know that I am a "STALKER" too, but I don't have
a problem with it.
And please don't bother writing a flaming reply, insulting me
and telling me how pathethic I am, because I don't contribute
anything. I would just smile about it, and hope you grow up some
time soon....
I will keep stalking this Forum and I will keep not posting very
much and be happy with it.
If you are not, that is unfortunate, but I can't help you with
this.
But now I must get going, haven't stalked the Board for 5
minutes. I might miss something !!
