The Lancaster Bomber Pocket Manual a must buy for me, certainly
if i need to fly it :)

Bomber Command War Diaries: An Operational Reference Book
1939-1945 by Middlebrook a great work
The Bomber Command Handbook by Falconer, an excellent work
Bomber Command Operations Manual: Insights Into the
Organisation, Equipment, Men, Machines and Tactics of RAF Bomber
Command 1939-1945 (Haynes Manuals) Its worth a read.

I ordered the first two 1944 red kite books as well...couldnt
resist. ;)
Anything written by Martin Middlebrook is great.
Great pockets, from ebay used and for small money. (old tip)

I am rereading "The Other Battle" by Peter Hinchliffe. It is a
very good read and I highly recommend. I also have the two
volume set by Martin Bowman, "German Nightfighters vs Bomber
Command". Good and informative but much dryer to read.

I have that one too, lol.
The serie Simon and I mentioned are very nicely illustrated, and
very detailed.
So much, that only the rivet counters probably like it.
If you like a compact in depth analyses of a SINGLE raid, with
eyewitness from every walk, technology and tactics, and sobering
statistics, Middlebrook is your man.
Not as dry as the aforementioned, the books you want to reread
after a long time. He would be my first recommendation, once you
have a general grasp of the BoCo campaign.
Nuremberg, Hamburg, USAAF Schweinfurt/Regensburg, Peenemünde all
exellent. Or the Berlin raids 43-44.
Kevin Wilson trilogy, starting on jan 1st 1943, is full of
accounts and background, great if you are willing to read 3 in a
row to 1945.
Patrick Bishops "Bomber Boys", same style as above, but
compacter in one book.

Send ya 2 "ebooks" on EW.
Of all books I read on the subject, these were the best.
And foremost, a light and fascinating read, in case you run dry
after Middlebrook... ;D
