Map 2 (renamed for sequence) sent in 3 parts:
MAP 2: Jan43-Aug43
MAP 2 same, but cutdown to more relevant area blowing map
details up.
LEGEND: for MAP 1-3
Used email due bigger original files...
What do you think?
Practical? Miss something?
Most Important:
All rules and modifiers based on weak gaming experience.
I made the MAPs and rules with the UT (Uneventful Trip) Mod in
mind.
It is more a suggestion from my side that anything in concrete,
so feedback of experienced players will, for big part, determine
usefullness!!
Cheers, Rob.
Its a good day. Another 138.000 jobs were spared from Corona.
For now anyway.

Ok, I really like it. I just sent to Glenn and I am digesting
everything right now. (worked late again). What (in game terms)
does the 3A, 3B, 3C in the Raums mean? The 3 zones effect or
modify chart 5-6 bomber detection. Shouldn't it effect the
kammhuber chart chance--4-5?

"What (in game terms) does the 3A, 3B, 3C in the Raums mean?"
Nothing really, its chrome and helps identify the location of
densest Himmelbett (CAT-III) coverage.
Should be the most dangerous obstacle due to its deph, made
along most likely bomber penetration routes.
Formely the HENAJA (illuminated S/L supported NFing) zone, I
suspect notation was of S/L regiments, neatly allocated a square
sector.
In each sector a S/L was slaved to a Würzburg radar, becoming
master S/L (blueish light according bmbr crews) to lock on a
single plane, with unguided S/L following suit creating an
illuminated "spider" for the NF to shoot down.
After change of tactics late 1941/early 1942, S/L withdrawn to
cities, but Würzburg radars stayed, and so became regular DUNAJA
zones, but with higher overlapping/width.
They also kept their somewhat boring names like 3A, 3B ect.
instead of animal coding names of CAT-I zones. (Which were set
up for DUNAJA from outset)
I will change its appearance to add circular ranges like CAT-I,
becase notation changed later on on LW charts.
"Shouldn't it effect the kammhuber chart chance--4-5?"
Good point.
I thought about that, youre probably right.
I thought about having the "common good" EW gadgets have their
influence on (4-5) first. Like WINDOW and MANDREL, and then
MONICA ect. on an individual bases on (5-6).
Am I right translating (4-5) into:
"The GCI controller vectors a NF to a bomber (you this time), do
they cooperate good enough for the NF (AI radar) to have a go?"
If former question is YES, bmbr is detected and you proceed to
(5-6)?
NB. I did not explain in the LEGENDA why I made an underscore
for 1.NJG.
I could not resist (anybody may or may not incorporate as much
as he wishes anyway) adding this in.
Not only was the 1.NJG a crack unit, with which all NF aces flew
a least some time of their careers, also the JLO
(JagdLeitOffizier or GCI officer) were the best.
They formed the cradle of the Nightfighting arm, having had the
best practice in Holland, laying on the bomber highway with
plenty of trade...
The smooth cooperation and human interaction between an
agressive pilot with good reflexes and a frosty Himmelbett JLO
with the "voice of reason" cannot be overstated.
The teamwork and professionalism required must have been
awesome. (Same goes for bmbr crews...)
Some JLOs had "kill participations" (abschussbeteiligungen) of
60-plus...
As such, it is a depiction of NF pilot as much as JLO quality.

I am especially interested in how you rate the full versus the
cutdown map.
I think I will develop only one version for the other maps.

I may be dense, but I'm having a hard time figuring out the
difference between the 2 maps--cutdown? Not sure I'm seeing
it. I definitely want more detail and will print a bit bigger.

Heya Chris,
Thanks for asking.
I cut off the bottom 2 horizontal hexrowes, losing "acces" to
the Mediterranean and some Italian targets.
However, by skewing the hexes a bit, you only lose La Spezia as
target, a small price to pay... (and well camouflaged it seems..
;O)
Secondly, I pondered about how to streamline my wicked ideas
with the game structure.
As you rightly suggested, the modifiers for greater HZ density
should ONLY impact (4-5).
I will change LEGENDA accordingly, together with some typos.
My logic: If youre turning up on more radar scopes, the chance
you get a NF trying to visit is greater.
IF that NF finds you (on his radar and then visual) or not, is
independant at first.
I cleaned up MAP 2 to V1.1 and finished MAP 1 V1.0
Wanted to start on MAP 3 but SHE started nagging...
Will send you in a few minutes via email to check out.
As I am "blind" to the maps, thinking its all logic and such, do
not hesitate to ask anvthing please.
Laters, Rob.
