Crew replacement

Thoughts and how do you folks do it. I just lost my experienced
pilot (KIA on 10th mission). I assumed I would just start a new
(novice) pilot but I am wondering if that is right. Maybe a
more experienced pilot was available? I was thinking, 1D6, 1-2
green, 3-4 experienced (over 5 missions), and 5-6 Veteran with
over 10 missions.
Plausible?
Chris

Its plausible, but more towards the Green, at least every pilot
would have one mission under his belt, from learning the job
with an experienced pilot. Getting a veteran would be rare,
unless he was coming back from wound/illness recovery

Per Simon I think.
Plenty of crew had to sit out an OP, only for the rest to go
missing in that very OP.
These "orphans" were used as spare bods or filled a coincidental
"vacancy" in the squadron.
The Bomber Command crew supply was never a problem, so a green
crew always available.
