Is that Shoup in the middle here? Looks to have a cigar in his
hand. See Edson and Smith. In Hawaii before Saipan?

Thanks, Gunny. Got another one that had some names I did not
see. Smith, Shoup, Edson.. I had. Names I do not know. Lt Col
Cook, Lt Col Colley, Lt Col Goen and a Capt O'hara. No first
names. Will have to look at muster rolls. Was betting on this
being at Parker Ranch and believe I got it. See pic below.
Modern vs old of main house. Although looks like there's been
some updates, both have same lattice works. I would bet these
are rare but I lose more than I win :) Pictures courtesy of the
daughter of Lt Col Carl Mesmer's daughter. He was surviving
officer of E22 at Tarawa. 2nd LT then and was in charge of the
       weapons platoon.

Lt Col Jesse S. Cook Jr. (Logistics officer under Smith))
Lt Col Dixon Goen (ExO under Shoup)

There is a book by a 2nd Div Interpreter that has some info on
Colley. I have it at home.

2nd picture had last names. Filled them in I believe. Mesmer not
in first one so think he took the first one. 9 in each so there
is an unknown in the 1st one. Quite the gallery....

Anyone know the name of the 6th Marines S2 Officer who was
killed along with a couple of other men on Betio after the
       island was secured?

Gunny, I lost my 6th Marine musters for Nov 43. Have to go back
and extract again at some point. You can probably leave an
inquiry on Missingmarines.com... I'm sure he would show up on
the map "The cost of Tarawa" but it's not sortable by anything
other than name. Tried to go down starting at A but did not make
       it too far...
