       Tank Companies

       Away from sources right now but did all the 2nd Div tank
       companies land on Betio?

       Not real knowledgeable here. Only pictures I've seen are of
       Charlie Co.. There were Stuart tanks there too but I've not read
       much on them. Seen pics of them by the revetments as I recall.
       Maybe they were in another company? Musters for 2ndTnk Battalion
       show troops in A,B, C and D. I don't see the whole division
       participating. Again, not really knowledgeable here. Will look
       into Tanks in Hell but that book was focused on C Co....

       Elements of both B and C Company light tanks made efforts to get
       ashore. Many drowned out on the reefs of course. Don't know the
       numbers for each but it wasn't many. Perhaps three or four
       platoons in total.
