Gold barbs behaving weird

Hi all
So I have been looking for help regarding my Gold Barbs for a
long time now without finding a solution...
When I bought my gold barbs, they where calm and high and low in
the tank, but, as soon as they got into my tank they have been
totally different in behaviour, when light is on they hide the
hole time and stay at the bottom of the tank..... I feed a small
pinch of flakes once day and then they go berserk, feeding like
crasy and show themselves off, and after feeding they hide again
never to show themselves while lights are on. When lights are
off they are everywhere in the tank, but mostly hang our in the
bottom.
My tank is a 45 gallon I think (160liters) and my water
parameters are:
PH; 7.0
Gh: 2.0
Ni: 0
NA: 0
NH4: 0.1
Water temp: 23 degrees celcius
Other fish: 6 Siamese algaeeaters, 3 ottocinclus

How many barbs, they may need a bigger school to feel
comfortable
