       Jacobfreibergi Breeding Project
By: freddie Date: August 23, 2015, 1:16 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Some advice needed from the more experienced peacock breeders in
       this forum.
I am looking to start a breeding project to produce some decent
quality Aulonocara Jacobfreibergi. Sourcing quality adult
females locally has turned out to be a non-runner. So I've
picked up 10 juveniles unsexed (and unsure of the quality of
these pieces) and am hoping to get 3 or more females from this
group to kick off the project.
So this is my starting point.
       10 x Jacobfreibergi juveniles unsexed.
2 x Adult male Jacobfreibergi (nice quality from a different
       source).
My thinking is that breeding the females from this group of
juveniles with one of the 2 nice adult males should improve the
quality of the next generation. Would this be correct?
How many generations can I breed from the same male?
Is it bad practice to breed males with females of the same
       batch?
Any tips or ideas would be appreciated as this is my first
       venture into breeding peacocks.
       Thanks :)
