Hey everyone I just bought a 20 gal tank that I want to set up
as a planted tank, but I don't know anything about planted tank.
Where should I look for ideas of how to set it up. I what to do
it right but low cost. All I have is the tank and a small air
pump so far. What else do I need.
       Thanks again

       Hey Littlebuddy,
For starters, your going to need a filter of some type. Since
you have an airpump, a good sponge filter would be the cheapest
       way to get started.
You'll need a substrate too. Something simple as playground sand
is cheapest, yet to get a better start and still not break the
bank, use an Eco-Complete planted substrate would be an
       alternative.
Do some research on the types of plants you want to grow.
Knowing ahead of time will help you save money when it comes to
purchasing the proper lighting for those plants.
Another important item to consider is tank placement. Will it
get direct sunlight? Is there an air-conditioner/heater vent
close to the tank that would blow across the tank.
       Hope that little bit helps,
       Paul

do I need to have a lot of water movement in a planted tank, and
what kind of maintenance do i need to do. Should I be vacuuming
out the gravel weekly like in my cichlid tank
