What do I do if Electric Yellow Cichlid has torn tail?

One of my Electric Yellow Cichlids got into a fight and part of
his tail is torn off. He
Its an established, cycled tank:
PH 7.8
Ammonia .10 (water change twice a week)
Nitrite 0
Nitrate .15
Its been about 4 days, fish is still alive, still eats. He's
struggling, but swimming upright. He is away from the other
Cichlids. I don't have an Emegerceny Tank set up (lesson
learned - I got one today, but its being cycled).
Question: Will the tail grow back? What should I do?
Will the tail grow back? Not sure what I should do from here.
First time this has happened.

Yeah it'll grow back. I'd get him in that other tank by himself
ASAP. You can get some Seachem Prime to detoxify the ammonia,
nitrites, and nitrates until it's fully cycled. You could also
add some Paraguard to keep it from getting infected.

I have a snow white that lost an eye in a fight about 2 years
ago and some of its fins. He made a full recovery (but still
missing the eye). I just kept him separate for a while.

Thank you for the advice. I have been watching my water
parameters like a hawk. Up'd my water changes and so far
everything is on point.

You also might want to try aquarium salt.

Tried that once, killed my common pleco. never again will I use
salt. but thank you for taking the time for the suggestion :)

I keep about a teaspoon of salt per 5 gallons and my plecostomas
is doing fine.
