I feed them 5 times a week... Every 3rd day I skip a day....
I think twice a day is going to ensure you're doing more water
changes than needed....

I feed twice a day as well Mandy. your schedule is very similar
to mine. I think I read it somewhere, that it might help control
aggression.
Paul, I know that uneaten food will rot and thus requiring more
water changes. But if all the food is eaten and uneaten food is
scooped(no that I have to) is two feeding still too much? Just
curious.
I could see have more feeding = more pooping, but does it also
mean more growing and not just more water changes?

Twice a day if possible, once before work then one after work
(7.30am and 4.30pm). They always go crazy for it.

Nurse Mandy thank you for running this poll.
Wow this is amazing how vastly different everyone's feeding
schedule is... From every other day to twice a day. I assume
that we all have healthy tanks.
I guess knowing this, I'm wondering if there are advantages and
disadvantages to either feeding schedules. More water changes,
less tank aggression, faster growth, more or less activity.
Is there a correlation to temperature. My tank is at a warm 81
degrees and with double feedings does that mean there is higher
metabolizing rates? I've read that warmer water help beneficial
bacteria reproduce faster.
My water parameters are perfect as well with water changes once
a week. I have a diy set with a golden pothos plant that has
helped lower nitrates pretty nicely too.

I'm trying a less frequent schedule, but with more food. I'm
finding that if you feed less frequently that you could put more
food in at feeding time. The more food allows slower moving
fish to get a chance to get to the food. I'm also noticing that
the faster and larger fish almost get to much food and spit some
out. Allowing others to get more food.
Other than that I'm not noticing any change, seem to be the
same amount of fish waste. Either way my water is clear. =)
