Plants in the Rift lake tank?

Does anyone else have plants in their African Rift Lake Cichlid
tank? I converted my, at one time, heavily planted SA
community/Ram tank over to an African Cichlid tank. I did
remove the rotala, wisteria, and sagittaria, but left my anubias
and several java ferns. I figure they would still survive, even
if the got uprooted. I know the typical set-up is strictly rock
caves and crevices, nut they seem to use the plants as if they
were caves as well. Well anyways, just wondering if anyone else
has plants in their African tanks.

The only problem is that African Cichlids like to move the grave
around and that can dig up the roots, and they might eat plants.
