       Green micro suspended algae

       I recently had a micro algae bloom in my 160 gallon african
       Cichlid tank. I used Joeys idea of the DIY water polisher and
       man oh man it literally is filtering out micro green algae !!! I
       have blacked out the light source in my aquarium room and
       currently using the polisher and in 24 hours the algae filled
       water has reduced by half ! I am still amazed ! I also have been
       doing 25% water changes daily and that is taking care of the
       dying algae. My tank is looking soooo much better ! Also I added
       prothos Ivey to the top of my overflow to absorb extra nutrients
       out of my tank. Hopefully with all the new mods I have made my
       tank will have a speedy recovery :-)
