Fish dying every 2 or 3 days.

Hi all
Am very new to the hobby.Have a 55 gallon fresh water tank .5
weeks okd,cycled.all stats are good.temp at 76 to 78 always.I
keep loosing a fish or 2 every 2 or 3 days...antone have any
advice?please help me if you can.

more info would be helpful. What is your stock and what fish are
you adding? Are the fish being bullied? Are they eating at all?
post as much info as you can so we can paint a picture. What
signs lead up to the fish passing?

I thought my tank had cycled and started adding fish. I lost one
fish after 2 weeks, out of 11, Then over a 2 week period lost 3
more and found my nitrates were high, I was watching ammonia and
nitrites too much. After many water changes I got my nitrates
down to 10, so I added 7 more. A couple of weeks later 2 of the
initial batch died, but I had 16 that looked great. Added 4 more
for a total of 20 in my 55 gallon tank and all are fine. I used
prime all along but I think I should of added 4 or 5 and waited
a couple of weeks to add more.

My brand new tank (55GA also) took 8 weeks to fully cycle (fish
in) and Prime as well. I only add 2-3 fish at a time and I wait
a bout a week in between. 25-30% water changes 1-2x a week. I
lost 2 cichlids and my pleco in the amonia spike of week 5 :'(.
So far my only other losses have been Non cichlid add ins that
didn't fair so well(corey cats) they got beat up before I could
start a community tank. I really under estimated the the power
of THE CYCLE despite watching really smart (John and others)
people talk about it on the youtube.

My guess is that the tank was not cycled enough. But need more
info:What kind of fish and how many. I ready like to know how
much filtration you have on this tank.
