       New Life Spectrum
By: TexMex Date: November 10, 2014, 11:16 am

       Hey guys,
Just wondering what is the difference between New Life Spectrum
and New Life Spectrum Ultra Red? I know it is saying that red is
suppose to help with color, but they only come in small volumes.
While Regular New Life Spectrum comes in big buckets. Just
looking for any insight, if I should get the regular or the red.
I am currently using Ultra Red, but I have 120gal and a 75gal
with overstock Peacocks and Haps. Food does not last long, so I
saw that New Life Spectrum regular sell it in buckets. Any help
       will be awesome.

The ingredients in ultra red are geared toward color enhancement
specifically the color red. I use a combination of their
cichlid formula, ultra red, and thera A. So far I have only
seen ultra red available in the small container.
Food is a controversial topic. Some people say that there is no
need to vary the diet of your cichlids just feed them a food
that is designed with their dietary needs in mind and that is
enough. Me personally I have noticed better color in my fish
when give them a variety of the foods I listed above.

So besides increasing of the color red they 2 products are still
       the same.

The entire spectrum line of food is a rip-off of Xtreme's
recipe... Stick with the original, and go with Xtreme...

Come on thats not fair to say. The labels look very different. I
use both and I love both. The main ingredients are found in most
if not all cichlid formulas. Both great foods

Except I know the creators of Xtreme, and have for all my life.
I have heard the story many times. And without question the
recipe for spectrum is a direct rip-off of the recipe for
Xtreme, with a little garlic thrown in to avoid civil
       litigation...

krill, herring, algae, and wheat. Alot of other cichlid pellets
contain these. Northfin looks exaclty like this. Are they a
direct rip-off too? For all I know NLS could have just ripped
off the recipe but if they did, so did all these other cichlid
pellets. A better statement would be that Xtreme created a
recipe that worked and other companies built upon that. Now if
the creator that you know said that the NLS creator came to him
and stole his recipe then thats a diff story lol. I love xtreme
       and will always feed it.
