       Black Diamond Sand and Pool Filter Sand mix.

       I dont have tons of money to buy expensive sand for my aquarium.
       I was wondering if anyone has mixed Pool Filter Sand and Black
       Diamond sand to show something different in there tanks? And
       some pictures would be awesome. I was thinking about using about
       3/4 PFS and 1/4 Black diamond. Thoughts?

       I don't know the cost of pool filter sand, however I can tell
       you that I purchased 2 bags (100 pounds total) of Black Diamond
       for $15 at my local TractorSupply.
       The BD sand is much smaller than pool sand, so you might not
       have much of an impact on color.  Personally, I'd go with one OR
       the other.
       What size tank are you setting up, and what kind of fish do you
       have in the plans?

       I am setting up a 55 gallon mbuna tank, after doing more
       research going with all black diamond sand is growing on me.

       I use pool filter sand in my aquarium and a 50 pound bag cost me
       $8 dollars at Home Depot. The only thing is make sure you clean
       it very good.
