Terracotta Pots in display tanks :(

I'm not sure if its just me, but Terracotta Pots in display
tanks drive me crazy. When people post pics of there display
tanks full of Terracotta Pots and ask what we think of there new
setup, Sorry I will have to give my honest answer. And it will
most likely be "S_ _ T". Also the stacking of slate to make
little cubby houses makes me a little annoyed as well, I would
rather see a bare bottoms to display your beautiful fish. Sorry
       had to be said :)

I agree if you put terracotta pots in the tank, put them your
your grow out tank for any other tank. If it is your display be
creative or a keep it bare. Big Fan of Holy Rock!!!!

I don't judge others tanks on aesthetics. Really, that's such a
subjective thing to get hung up on. It's not your tanks so ..
who cares. You can have lime green and fushia gravel with a
bunch of hello kitty statues for all I care. As long as it's
       fish safe.
Now, if I see someone doing something that will have a negative
affect on the fish, that's when it's appropriate to say
something. And frankly, most fish love the terra cotta things
so ... and the plants do to.

They seem to be quite popular in breeding tanks to form a
spawning area. I have never used them as I prefer a more natural
look but do not see any harm in using them as an easy solution
for a hiding spot or as a spawning site. It can be difficult to
find suitable alternatives for big cichlids, who probably
appreciate having a nice pot to defend.
