I love the Jack Dempsey's. I might be odd in that I'm not all
that thrilled with the EBJD's though. I grew up with JD's.
They were the species I went to after my initial "community"
tank. They are NOT the easiest fish to spawn, but it sure was
fun trying.
I also love good old Angel Fish. Really nice koi Angles are my
current favorite. Which is a bit odd for me since I tend
towards the more natural "wild" color forms on most fish.
And for the third - it's hard for me to pick just one, but there
are several Apisto species that I really like.

The only SA Cichlid I have ever kept are my Geophagus Red Head
Tapajos. Very cool fish as they sieve through the sand.
The three American Cichlids on my list to keep though would be
Oscars, Jack Dempseys and Green Terrors. These guys seem to have
a lot of personality. One day though i'd love to get some
Peacock Bass too, just need a huge tank to do them justice.

I like the smaller guys, like any of the Rams...second would be
Discus...then the EBJD, never kept one, but may in the
future...hard to not just set up more tanks for AC's..
