Awesome!! I bought my first But :o over 20 years ago!! My
friends all had poo poo Convicts and I wanted something similar
but that could beat the crap out of their sissy Convicts lol.
I had a customer bring one in to the shop about a year ago that
was over 12", he was a MONSTER!! I wish I could have kept him
but he was a loner and I really didn't want to tie down a shop
tank with just one fish. I sold him to a customer for $60 and he
put him in his own 90 gallon tank. He is thriving (and of coarse
tearing up EVERYTHING in the tank lol).

This one is an a 10 ft x 3 h x 2.5 w, and thinks his a convict
(very peaceful), there is a much smaller female in the tank but
no luck breeding however the tank is full of other med-large
american cichlids.
These guys were everywhere at one stage however are down to a
known 20 or so fish, so the price is up atm. females rarely if
never sold with males fetching $200-300. (if not more)

with only a blue light turned on.
i think they are fantastic cichlids and hopefully i get them
breeding for me one of the days.
