Some of my favorites are KG tropicals (of course), ACH,
bluezootv, Ted judy, and joey
Used to like Dustin but feel he has to big of a head these days
and his content is lacking. Joeys old videos were great! I
design all my stands, racks, and a few other things after his
designs. But! His content is also lacking. Bout the last 6
months really. Cichlidman09 is the most annoying person I've
ever watched. And im giving that hannahbanana girl some time.
Don't xare for her yet BUT only because she's covering things I
know already. Her production and professionalism are great tho.
Makes better videos than I could lol

Well, people can't cover what they don't know, right? Like for
example, John (sorry John, I'm using you as an example...a good
one tho) covers what he knows, right? And anyone experienced in
Cichlids may say, "Well, he's covering what I already know."
Where as me, I didn't know anything to very, very minimal about
Cichlids. But when I started watching John's videos (and others)
and listen to his podcast, not only did I learn more, but I
learn something new every time. And that's for as things John or
anyone else say that I already know (like what things to
consider and what equipment to get when setting up a new
aquarium)....well, I just see those as refresher courses (they
can't hurt). And not only that!!! But it's always good to know
other people's opinions, advice, etc. on the same subject...you
never know, you just might learn something new :) that might
make you go :o

I like channels that I can learn from like KGTropicals, Joey,
Marc, though at times, I just want to watch beautiful tank
updates. On the other hand, I dislike hosts that SCREAM, ACT
GANGSTA (I'm old-school), or too GOOFY, just over the top. Some
just try too hard to get famous. Don't get me wrong, I like to
laugh. Some are entertaining, but not cross that fine line
between funny & abnoxious.

I agree with you, ACIon55, but we can learn from screamers,
gangsta acting and goofy people too. And yes, some do try too
hard, I agree. ;D

ACJon - I'm with ya on that. I get through Dustin's videos
because there is some interesting content mixed in there.
Now, the Dustin wannabee's ... Really, Dustin is Dustin, it ...
mostly ... works for Dustin. But trying to act like Dustin,
never works.
I do have to say, even though Dustin drives me a little nutty
with the gangsta thing, he does sell nice plants. I've ordered
from him twice. Both times I got really healthy plants with
rockin' root systems. And I got more green stuff than I thought
I'd be getting. All the plants were slightly larger and bulkier
than what I thought I'd get. And that's a nice thing. So I
can't fault him or his business there.

I would second all of the Youtube channels that John mentioned
plus, obviously, KGTropicals, Lou9294, cyberaquarist, Hannah
Banana, Mrhoney2u, and Fishtankgirl. Before I set up my African
cichlid tank and cycled it, I watched all 6 videos that
cyberaquarist made on nitrates in the aquarium. That guy is
dedicated and I know my nitrates now. Lou's channel has a lot
of practical advice on water quality, filtration, and african
cichlid behavior. All great channels.
