       Bad news...
By: kgtropicals Date: September 25, 2014, 6:13 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       Hey Folks,
I was notified this morning that this forum is getting close to
capacity of available storage for attachments and photos. This
was something I totally over looked when I set the forum up.
Foolish on my part I know, I should have known when I set it up
that the "free" package would be limited. I apologize if this
causes a problem when you go to attach photos to your posts. I
guess we'll have to play it by ear.
Unfortunately we're unable to pay for extra storage at the
moment and Lisa and I are not interested in making this forum
something YOU have to pay to be a part of so let's just see what
happens. I figured the amount of storage that was included in
the "free" package would be enough to support us for quite some
time but this forum took off much faster then I could have
expected, it's a good problem to have ::)

       I'm not 100% sure, I'm looking into it but I think it's $20 a
month. It's nothing outrageous. I just don't know exactly how it
works, one more thing to look in to lol.

a suggestion for you John ... since you ID my fish for me :).
people can have their photos stored on photo bucket or flickr
and just link to them to have them display in the posts. you
could do a sticky tutorial thread to show people how to do it.
       Something along these lines

I second that idea. Disable attachments and we can just link to
photobucket and YouTube. All the other forums I frequent do it
       that way.

I was wondering how long it would be before 'that' limit was
       reached.
Freddie is spot on with his suggestion. I personally like
Photobucket, and my 10GB of storage.
Quick and easy, drag your photo to your account, select your
newly uploaded image and select 'img' under Share Links.

It's copied to your clip board automatically. Return to the
forums here and paste (ctrl V) to place it into your thread.

I'm just now seeing everyone's suggestions on this, I like it!!
Maybe I can set it up where only moderators can post pics? This
way I can put up special items and stuff?

Using this method you can even link to special offer images on
the kgtropicals website or another website. No need to use up
       the forum storage space.
       For example:
Find the website image that you want to use. (the kgtropicals
logo from the bottom of the homepage)
Right click on the image and select properties.
  HTML http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/ah269/mhn_brn/Other%20Stuff/1_zpsee60c015.jpg
Copy the address URL from the properties page
  HTML http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/ah269/mhn_brn/Other%20Stuff/2_zpse392fb78.jpg
Open the Reply or New Message box on the Tank Talk forum.
Click on the Insert Image button
  HTML http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/ah269/mhn_brn/Other%20Stuff/3_zpsec8997ed.jpg
Paste the URL between the image tags
  HTML http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/ah269/mhn_brn/Other%20Stuff/4_zpsb3703e21.jpg
       Result....
