I started with a 55 and now am upgrading to a 72. However, i
hope to be able to upgrade to at least a 125 after that so i can
successfully keep Trout cichlids and Buccochromis. In my opinion
anything under 100 limits a hobbyist to mbunas, and smaller haps
and peacocks. I agree with everybody else, the bigger the
better!

I started my Cichlid addition with a 20g tank and I put 4 mbunas
in the tank, I did have a lot of hiding places for them. They
where in that thank for 6 to 8 months then, after watch John's
videos I bought a bigger tank. THANKS!!!!! LOL

Not sure how it is else where, but CL here in Phoenix lately has
had a TON of 125's for great prices...but there's ALWAYS 55's
and 75's being sold as complete sets for $100-$150...I'd
strongly suggest checking out this podcast by some cat that
sells fish in Kentucky or Virginia or something like that...has
a good series going, on fish keeping 101...
@Chris- What kind of AC's were you thinking about keeping? I'd
say min. a 55, you might get away with Demasoni in a 40
breeder....since there's a larger foot print there...

20 gal can work for some fish. I would stay clear of aggressive
species.
Perhaps you may be interested in tanganyikan shellies or a pair
of calvus/comps even some gold/blue/black occelatus (however
dont put all in the same tank together lol).
