Malkos took the cut as he roared in fury. Without hesitation he
accelerated, almost seemingly teleporting behind Claudia and
going to stab her back

Claudia's defenses were remarkable, but the inhuman speed of the
attack meant this time the stab wasn't blocked, striking her
armor and breaking through with a faint crack. Claudia gave a
cry, crumpling to the ground.
"Armani, get down!" Floriana shouted, this time sending a
crushing spout of water from her wand instead of lightning.
Armani obligingly ducked as it rushed overhead towards Malkos.

Malkos roared, his sword glowing once more as he made circle
motions. As if enchanted, the water started to follow his sword,
but in doing so, kept Malkos in place.

"Since we're probably not going to be in any condition to
discuss this later, is that you doing this, or your blade?"
Floriana asked, tracing symbols in the air with her free hand
but keeping up her spell. Mostly she was just playing for time;
it seemed like keeping her magic at bay was distracting Malkos
in a way he couldn't counter as easily as the knights' brave but
doomed swordplay.

Malkos said nothing as he continued to spin the water and in a
moment, rushed to the side to dodge the currents.
He proceed with run at amazing speed at Floriana, going for a
final stab to her chest.

Floriana burst into mist as the sword impaled her, but reformed
a bit behind Malkos.
"You're more powerful than me, but I wasn't born yesterday," She
growled, following up with a massive blasting wave of air to try
and hurl him back.

"Your allegiance says otherwise" Malkos answered coldly, not
even phased by this as he went for one more stab into Floriana.

"You never said anything about killing her. Was that supposed to
be a surprise?" Floriana snarled, using the force of her own
failed attack to help push herself away from the stab. Seeing
the wind hadn't even moved Malkos, she tried a burst of fire
next.

"The end goal is all that matters. The kingdom will get a new
ruler but the kingdom needs to stay strong" Malkos responded
running through the fire and going to slash at Floriana

"It seems to have done just fine without a warrior on the throne
my whole life," Floriana countered, turning to mist to avoid the
slash again and turning the solid stone floor under Malkos into
mud to try and trip him up.
