Malkos lifted his sword as the lighting bolt wrapped around it,
clearly shocking him in the process as well.
He roared in pain and fury but instead of throwing the lightning
back, he shot it in the direction of the princess and priest.
But even to Malko's surprise, the lightning bolt was thwarted by
not Armani, not Claudia, but the king himself who threw himself
into certain death for his daughter.

"No!" Claudia gasped in horror as the king was struck down by
lightning.
Armani turned away from the horrible scene in grief. There had
never been a way for the king to live through the day, but this
death hit harder than the news he had passed did in previous
cycles.
Grief mingled with rage, and despite the danger he attacked
Malkos.
"You bastard!"

"The ceremony is almost over, let me through!" Malkos snarled,
going to cut Armani down quickly.

Astonishingly, Armani was able to evade Malkos's fast slash,
going for a stab at Malkos's stomach.
"You will not! Not this time!"

Malkos took the stab in the stomach but did not waiver as he
bear hugged Armani and after a moment went to throw him across
the hall.

"Urgh!"
His endurance...does ANYTHING hurt him enough to stop him?!
Armani was hurled away, but Claudia intercepted his arc,
planting her feet and using her shield to halt him without
getting pushed herself. As Armani fell to the ground, Claudia
kept up the pressure with another strike at Malkos.

Malkos dodged this strike, going for a counter slash at her arm.

Claudia demonstrated her famed defensive prowess by blocking
Malkos's slash with her shield, although the force of the blow
staggered her. Still, she tried to move into a better position
and stab at Malkos.

"!!" Claudia took a cut on her side, but was able to keep it
from being deep enough to be life-threatening with a quick push
from her shield. As she tried to bind Malkos's blade, Armani
tried to cut in under his guard.
